Also, a hospital isnāt exactly Alcatraz. If someone really wants to leave itās really not that hard. I think they are to a large extent counting on the fact that some that has a potentially deadly disease would not want to leave against medical advice.

I think youāre a great poster, even though I think youāre wrong here. Iāve had friends who barely follow politics and are pretty apolitical texting me with express wishes for death for these people. I think itās a common feeling.

Iām seriously confused. Iāve discharged hundreds of covid patients with active illness. Iāve had a few leave AMA for various reasons too. Anyone in the hospital who has what we call decision making capacity gets to decide if they want to go home, even if they have covid.
