Ukraine War: Discussion

This moronic slander was promptly debunked the last time it was trotted out.

Nope, once again you can’t read and follow a discussion. I do not believe that an entire people are responsible for what their ruling class forces them to do, or tricks them into supporting. I consider Russians to actually be people!

Yes, of course they are accountable to varying degrees. What should be the consequences? None other than if they find themselves in a life or death situation with an Ukranian then random internet posters from other countries will hope that the Ukranian is the one that lives.

Yes, it is fair to apply the same logic to US wars, citizens and soldiers.

Excellent. I salute you. I don’t necessarily agree that soldiers kidnapped and forced into action are accountable, and certainly nowhere near as accountable as a full volunteer army like the US, but at least your position is reasonable and consistent.

  1. For the time that they are in action and not trying to surrender to the Ukrainians, Russian soldiers are justifiable targets of deadly force and are morally culpable for continuing the war a share of the ongoing war crimes and genocide. That is, obviously, not equivalent to a statement that they should be executed upon capture or tried and hanged in the Hague.

  2. No.

Ok, fair enough but “that’s on you” seems a lot like the found out part of fucking around.

Of course, I do not think anybody is arguing that they shouldn’t get shot/killed while deployed in action against Ukraine. But it’s pretty gross for people to call them Orcs and get their kicks watching them get KIA. (Not necessarily you. And qualifier for the forum: Putin is gross too. Grosser even.)

Do you believe that American soldiers should have actively been finding ways to surrender to Iraq?

As far as 2., I’ll try to find the post. Perhaps I misunderstood or something, or got you mixed up with somebody else.

Russian soldiers are orcs who shouldn’t be tried for war crimes unless they commit certain acts like rape that are probably covered under some sort of international convention, but who are fair game for all sorts of conventional attacks.

They were volunteers.

You’re really rolling with the idea that these people should be killed, but the part you don’t like is calling them orcs? Please, let me suffer the fate that if someone thinks I should be killed, they call me an orc instead.

Why did the orcs ever take meat off the menu in the first place? Was there some vegan trend in Mordor?

Ok so you believe that they are just as accountable, or likely more accountable (since they volunteered), for the war in Iraq than kidnaped Russian soldiers are for the war in Ukraine?

A post was merged into an existing topic: Ukraine Invasion 2: Russia mobilizes 300,000

If the kidnapped soldier was against the war then he is less accountable otherwise he is equally culpable.

We should really just find wherever @voteforsocialists has gone off to and ask him to make a blog.

Cool thread title lol

More completely unbiased modding.

Sir, this is the apologizing for Putin’s war crimes thread. You want “About Moderation” just down the hall that way.
