The Television Streaming Thread: Now With Felonies

Please explain how I am wrong on the subject or in the context of the forum? I honestly have no idea.

Whoa

On May 4, 2020, Variety reported that Nicolas Cage had been cast to portray Exotic in an eight-episode television series based on a Texas Monthly article about Exotic. The series is produced by Imagine Entertainment and CBS Television Studios, and Dan Lagana will serve as writer, showrunner, and executive producer.[33]

My first interaction with him was a thread where he blamed me for bringing up a topic someone else brought up, then included a bunch of pre-programmed centrist insults, of course of the smug and superior type you describe.

Every time I see him replied to in other threads, someone is dunking on him for saying something stupid and racist. So my conclusion is heā€™s a racist asshole who for some reason thinks heā€™s woke and superior, because thatā€™s what the evidence says, and I hope he stays mad about how badly he hides it.

Narrator:

He called me a racist. Right now. This week. He literally said I was racist against black people. And you decide to target my post.

Do better.

Some people are saying Tenet will be the movie that announces the return of movie theaters.

a new challenger appears

Iā€™ve literally never made a single racist post or supported anything racist on this or any forum. Just because you are so obviously wrong on the topic we are discussing you donā€™t need to lie to deflect.

Olink sorry I wrapped you up in my response to RC. I apologize. He set me off calling me a racist, this of all weeks, when being an ally means so much. I didnā€™t mean to include you in my response.

I just think while I know your heart is in the right place with wanting to ban GWTW it is the very definition of a slippery slope. History has to remember the awful things we have done so we donā€™t repeat them.

My apologies again. Goofy is right. I need to watch my condescension.

I get that, i just donā€™t think we need to keep like every embarrassingly racist thing we ever liked and fetishize it because history. Thatā€™s not history, thatā€™s hoarding. We really will be fine without some of it.

Ethan Hawks is consistently one of the most interesting actors. He rarely makes a bad film. He is also one of the most riveting interview subjects.

Anyone here watch F Is For Family (or are more generally Bill Burr fans)? Season 4 is out Friday, one of the few upcoming seasons Iā€™ve been looking forward to that hasnā€™t been delayed or scuttled by COVID.

Clovis isnā€™t the guy being out of line in this particular scuffle.

Sure, I think we agree on the principle but not in how this principle should be applied to this case. I donā€™t think keeping Gone with the Wind means we are anywhere close to trying to keep every embarrassing piece of history, nor do I think that allowing people to watch the film on HBOā€™s streaming platform with an introduction that discusses what makes the film problematic amounts to fetishizing the film.

I hated the clips of it you canā€™t avoid so much that Iā€™ve never bothered to watch the whole thing.
But then Iā€™ve never been much of a fan of Hollywood blockbusters.

This.

Clovis may be annoying from time to time but who isnā€™t? I definitely wouldnā€™t call him racist.

John Brown and Bleeding Kansas is an amazing timer period too. Reconstruction too for that matter. A lot of material there

Itā€™s amazing how all-knowing Google is. Lately, Iā€™ve had a few times where Iā€™ve watched an interview with an actor on YouTube and the person said something I wanted to look up. After typing two characters into the YouTube search, the first auto-complete suggestion was exactly what I was going for.
