dems don’t want to throw the derposphere into orbit by arresting people for stuff like ignoring subpoenas, and that’s understandable because even without any arrests tens of millions of people are already convinced there’s an illegal coup going on with hillary clinton and ukraine and if they succeed they’re gonna take away the dicks of white men across the country. and they believe it like a religion and they have tons of guns and are constantly being wound up and told that nonwhites and progressives are coming to take their dicks by force very soon.
but at the same time, i support the idea of building a jail real quick, like an iron cage hanging on a chain in the capitol building somewhere with high ceilings, because if these doofuses already think it’s a coup then what are they gonna do? believe it’s a coup even more? they’re 10/10 riled up, and shooting people is still illegal.
so the other reason to not arrest them is they don’t want republicans arresting dems over nonsense procedural rules when they eventually take power again. but like, just follow the rules, then. i’m fine with arresting people for refusing testimony or subpoenas either way. also i want them to get rid of the magic words, “i do not recall.”. it’s either “it could have happened” or “i very much doubt that happened” from now on because seriously that do not recall phrase is abused too much
