Answering questions from reporters for the first time since the violence at the Capitol on Wednesday, the president sidestepped questions about his culpability in the deadly riot that shook the nation’s long tradition of peaceful transfers of power.
“People thought what I said was totally appropriate,” Mr. Trump told reporters at Joint Base Andrews, en route to Alamo, Texas, where he was set to visit the border wall. Instead, Mr. Trump claimed that racial justice protests over the summer were “the real problem.”
“If you look at what other people have said, politicians at a high level about the riots during the summer, the horrible riots in Portland and Seattle and various other places, that was a real problem,” he said.
Didn’t they try something like that before with Iran or was that another country…damn, those ME places all sound the same.

I don’t know. Like are they going to start a war in the next week? Seems like the drunk guy yelling on the way out the door.
I am distantly related to somebody in the Secret Service. She had no military or law enforcement experience prior.
Her father was modestly high up in the military in an administrative role in DC. Then he retired to start a private consultancy where he made stupid amounts of money in a very short period on government contracts.
One day he abruptly retired from that job too. Shortly after, he and everybody else involved with his consulting business were indicted on federal bribery charges.
About a year later and after god knows how many hundreds of thousands in legal fees, the charges were dropped without explanation. A few months after that his daughter was hired by the SS.
I see these people very rarely so I don’t know their current allegiances, but they were very pro-Trump during the first couple years of his administration.

Like many other people, I have lost the ability to discern the real from the satire. But it’s worth pointing out that The Alamo is not in Alamo, Texas.
Whether or not Trump knows that is anyone’s guess.

Yeah, they released a bunch of Bin Laden files a few years back that supposedly showed some links. I think a specific 9/11 allegation is new.
I don’t know. Like is Trump actually going to plan for weeks to have capitol police understaffed and block all access to reinforcements, then have his supporters storm the Capitol? Seems pretty out there.

I was trying to provide the trump voice to the thread now that the bot’s gone, I also intentionally mixed up davy crocket with daniel boone, because I used to do that in grade school. Figured it would be something he’d tweet.
