Defense can keep a QB from rolling out, press the receivers, etc. This actually sound incredibly easy to defend because you’d only need a single high safety and good contain on the edge and you can have 8 in the box to play the run.

I don’t know if I played Tecmo bowl but I had Tecmo Super Bowl. I still have a core memory of trying to go undefeated and win the Super Bowl. The first time I got close I was winning the Super Bowl in the second half and my dad was doing something downstairs and flipped the breakers

If you really want to go 19-0 with no effort, you can sack the QB like 90% if the time by using the nose tackle, going down/forward for a split second and then diving. Pretty much works every play they are not in shotgun.
We did Tecmo SB tournaments and always did a rule outlawing this.
this sounds easy to bomb on vs single high unless you got ed reed in his prime back there
Bo is only on two plays on the default raiders playbook and you can pick one of them every time and have your player be the unblocked guy for the other one

19-0 is hard because the degree of difficulty increases (fun seeing about everyone in excellent condition lmao) the farther you go into the season if you are unbeaten. Don’t remember when the Bills play them but if it’s late yeah that’s gonna be annoying even with just two plays lmao. (week 15, well bo could be injured)
it’s not hard to beat though with a playbook adjustment there are enough runs and passes that it can’t auto stop (except B up those take too long to develop). It’s banned in competitive play obviously but mostly only in the sense that if you rando’d when you did it makes the game more of a guessing game than anyone wants.
I always played it if you were playing a human, not a CPU, I never had a season going unbeaten with the bad or shitty teams though, guess I wasn’t that good but I was a kid what do you want.
In the original Tecmo Bowl, the defensive cheat was picking the Giants and controlling LT. Auto-sack most of the time.
