Police Murder George Floyd Then Riot Nationwide (Links to Streams in OP)

Me & Sabo dog were trapped in Forks WA by the stupid ass local cops back on 2018-7-4. Forks is a small town on US-101.

We were driving along, noticed a sign of an upcoming detour… then drove on into the middle of town’s 4th of July parade. After several blocks, a stupid ass cop stopped us and asked: “why didn’t you take the detour?”. I said: “what detour?”. He got on his radio and chewed some other lazy cop’s ass about forgetting to put up the detour sign… and told us to exit to the east. Well, it turns out the detour was to the west of the parade… and the entire east side if town was sealed off from the rest of the US road network for the ~6 hour duration. None of the stupid ass cops would let the ~20 cars, both tourist or local, cross over during breaks in the parade.

After about 30 minutes, I talked the local FD into letting (only) our car back into the parade again, and we left town behind the HS band. Both times in the parade, Sabo dog was up looking out the window. We were driving a brand spanking new bright red rental, and several spectators assumed that Sabo was actually part of the parade… with the usual “what a sharp looking dog” comments as we went by.

I’ve been trying to convince my son that cops are not to be trusted for years to no avail, but this moment has done it. He scolded me every time I disrespected them in his presence prior to this incident and now I’m talking him off the ledge. About fucking time.

Fittingly the battle over BLM in the UK is being fought on tea fields…

A very British row is brewing: two of the UK’s biggest tea brands have united in support of the Black Lives Matter protests under the #solidaritea hashtag in the face of a boycott from right-wing figures.

PG Tips and Yorkshire Tea, the second- and third-biggest tea sellers in the UK, appeared to swing the power of their brands behind the worldwide protests during exchanges on Twitter.

In response to a tweet from a right-wing Yorkshire-based YouTuber Laura Towler expressing satisfaction that her local brand had not come out in support of the movement, Yorkshire Tea tweeted a reply asking her not to buy its product.

“I’m dead chuffed that Yorkshire Tea has not supported BLM,” Towler tweeted on Monday, along with a smiley face emoji.

But Yorkshire Tea, which is owned by the Harrogate-based Bettys and Taylors Group, replied: “Please don’t buy our tea again. We’re taking some time to educate ourselves and plan proper action before we post. We stand against racism.”

It was soon joined by PG Tips which, in response to tweets calling for a boycott of Yorkshire Tea, tweeted: “If you are boycotting teas that stand against racism, you’re going to have to find two new brands now #blacklivesmatter #solidaritea”. PG Tips is owned by the consumer goods conglomerate Unilever, which also makes Marmite and Pot Noodle among many other products.

Yeah it does suck, Pamela. If you are boycotting teas that stand against racism, you’re going to have to find two new tea brands now. #blacklivesmatter #solidaritea

As debate raged among politicians about the course of the protests in Britain, the exchanges brought a flurry of support for the tea brands and calls for others to align themselves with the BLM campaign.

I think #solidaritea is the most British corporate statement imaginable. And I like it. https://twitter.com/pgtips/status/1270091162972495874 …

#solidaritea is the best hashtag I’ve seen in a long time. 🤣👍

There were also responses condemning the tea brands for what several called “virtue signalling” and Towler herself quickly changed her Twitter profile to revel in being “disavowed by Yorkshire Tea”.

The use of the pun #solidaritea was applauded by many as well, although that hashtag has been around for some years and has already been used to back a campaign against domestic violence.

Historically, the tea industry has been linked to the use of forced labour and very poorly paid workers throughout the British empire.

And its not helping the cops PR effort when dozens of them give the skull-crackers a standing ovation when they get released on bail.

Workshopped messaging … or maybe just some firecrackers let off near Rick’s Smoke Shop to see what happens.

A ton of this stuff has to be Russians fake accounts, right? I realize a fair number of Trumpy Americans do think this way but there must be a lot of egging on by Russian trolls.

Calling another big derp thing coming. They’re going to be claiming the funding to BLM from around the world is actually going to be used for illegal campaign donations to democrats. My dad mentioned it and now I see it on reddit as well lol.

The evidence? People are donating to actblue and this is in their FAQ

Contributions to social welfare organizations which are similarly not cashed or are affirmatively refused will be kept by ActBlue and used generally to support its social welfare activities.

This is how you get illegal campaign funding from overseas buying televisions ads this fall. I bolded the portion that applies to BLM - they are not a charity nor a campaign, and THIS is why she won’t answer where the money is going to be used, because they will actively reject most of it so it can be re-designated to whatever political agiprop ActBlue wants to spend it on for November.

Look for Trump/fox to be saying this in a week or two.

26 Oxford councillors support #RhodesMustFall campaign

Overnight the Rhodes Must Fall campaign has been buoyed by 26 local councillors signing a letter in support of their protest. The letter reads:

We as City Councillors support the Rhodes Must Fall campaign in its demands for the removal of the Cecil Rhodes statue from Oxford’s High Street and endorse its wider campaign to decolonise Oxford University.

Cecil Rhodes was a white supremacist who believed in brutal colonial rule and subjugation across Africa and the world.

A city’s public art and monuments should reflect its values. The presence of this statue on our High Street is incompatible with our city’s proud internationalist heritage and commitment to anti-racism.

We condemn Oriel College’s 2016 decision to privilege its donors over the wider Oxford community.

We call on Oriel College to immediately remove the Cecil Rhodes statue and associated plaque.

The campaign group are planing a peaceful protest at 5pm today.

I posted about ActBlue in the LC thread

They definitely have some transparency issues and don’t necessarily use your money for the site you donated through.
