Ya the lack of remorse was crazy.
Caught Stealing (2025)
A few good scenes but overall bad. I could have gotten a million guessing and would never had picked Aronofsky as the director if I didnt know.
Grade: C
I saw this as well and didnât really like it. I feel like the movie didnât know what it wanted to be, and some of the dialogue was really bad.
Ya the tone was all over the place. Itâs was a silly stoner flick one minute then a gruesome mob movie the next.
Grades a better than B movie a literal B
I am sure you know this and are just making a joke but B movie wasnât a ranking of quality. It was just the second movie on a double bill, often a genre film like horror. ![]()
Itâs Labor Day.
âI see my money, which is from the yield of my labor, is still in your pocket. What gratitude? I see you making big profits off of my risk, my work, my sweat. And thatâs okay. 'Cause I elected to be here. But now is the beginning of my life. Now our deal is that I get my end. And now I am out.â
âWhy donât you join a labor union?â
âI am wearing it.â
(Thief currently streaming on Prime, Tubi, Hoopla, Kanopy, maybe others.)
Itâs the first of the month! Which means Tubi, Disney+, Pluto, Netflix, and MAX added a ton of new titles to their catalogs today. I highly suggest using JustWatch to see everything they added.
Sleepers is one of my favorite movies of all time. It is finally on Tubi.
Sleepers is right up there with Shawshank. It is exceptional in every way. The script, the director, the cast, the performances, the cinematography, the editing, the music, the literary references, the juvenile prison sequences, the character arcs, the payoffs at the end. It also has some of the best courtroom scenes of any movie (Brad Pitt vs Dustin Hoffman). Includes a surprise cameo from a young John Slattery.
Yeah Sleepers is elite
I saw this movie when i was 10 and it was terrifying.
I didnât watch but from the summary my first guess would have been the boys mom. Technology involved makes it unlikely a child is behind it. Also, you would need to be sociopathically involved to keep sending the texts after the police and FBI are involved. Did the FBI make a profile of who they suspected before the evidence led to her mom?
Probably kept ya out of trouble
No
The Rock Sobs as âThe Smashing Machineâ Gets 15-Minute Venice Ovation
Iâm strongly detecting the launch of the most insufferable Oscar campaign since Bradley Cooper 2023.
Youâre saying itâs BETTER than Shawshank?
Doesnât every movie at this big European film festivals get a ridiculously long standing ovation?
Saw Bogdanovichâs other consensus classic, Paper Moon (1973) today. Also excellent. Instant reaction is that The Last Picture Show is still slightly better, but I see that Letterboxd actually rates Paper Moon the slightly higher of the two. Anyway, these are both movies that people should watch. No clear streaming option for The Last Picture Show, but Paper Moon is on Kanopy.
4.5/5
I believe so. I donât actually know how long I could keep my part in a standing ovation going even if I was completely knocked over by how great a movie was. I feel like my hands would start to hurt before minute 15.
