I’d ask what you think the reason(s) were for posters drifting away because it’s something that I find interesting but you’re not a substantive person.

Well most people are more emotional about things than you are. I respect that view, but I would feel bad if I invested time and care into a place and then had no voice whatsoever. I also don’t believe many people can actually keep that emotion-free approach, so I find it interesting.
I’m just glad goofy posted that last night so we’d have a full Friday to talk about it.

It’s really incredible how high you are on your own supply that you see the world this way. cw invites a friend and this is immediately where your mind goes. Again, these two forums are not the same product.
No. His technical expertise was very helpful for getting the site up and running, but throughout that process he requested (and we all agreed) that he should never have admin access.
Logging off for awhile again, have fun continuing to argue forever.

Confirmed intentional for marketing purposes. Create a very provocative OP and let the contentious discussion proceed. Then step in and say “Look at this mess here, try our product instead.”

Well fuck me, I was starting to get the feel for posting here again. Two forums feels like too many already, and I don’t know if I can up it to three.

I am in no way saying UP was not already dying and that this might have been inevitable - that was part of my last parenthetical - I and lots of other people are also to blame (with varying degrees). This was just obviously one of the final straws, so it’s sad that we’re here.

Yeah it would have been better if the OP said certain people won’t be welcome. Which is entirely fair, I wouldn’t want most of grue’s ignore list posting there and fucking up yet another site either way. But just be upfront about it.
