Lol, didnā€™t recognize the poster, thought we caught a live one.

Seems a little high but in the right ballpark. Even if they only make minimum wage, if the average tip per hand is $2 and the average number of hands per hour is about 20. Am I way off on those numbers? I havenā€™t played live poker in years so itā€™s kind of all fading from my memory.

Iā€™m pretty sure take home is about half that, maybe a little more. Empty half hours and tournaments.

Speaking from experience, the hourly is definitely not $50. For tournaments it is generally <$20/hr. For cash I average ~$34/hr, and I am one of the faster and more efficient dealers. Dead spreads, lots of breaks, slow games, and bad tippers can kill your pay on any given day. And full time jobs are tough to come by. That being said, itā€™s certainly decent pay for a fun and easy job.

From what Iā€™ve been told, dealing in 2006 was insane and you could take home $5-600/shift.

ETA: a genuine thank you to those of you who are the nice/good pros, who help the game run smoothly, donā€™t tank on every street, keep the fish happy, and tip $1/hand. Speaking as both a player and a dealer, I appreciate you at the table.

You realize that you guys have the highest effective rate if you include your health insurance as a deduction/tax? Like, way higher than Canada/UK!

What the fuck. And this isnā€™t even some backwoods place with like 2000 residents.

Bexar County is the 16th most populous county in the nation.

Itā€™s really great that NYC has been able to beat back the virus. Gives me hope. It also gave me the realization that Chicago is now the Coronavirus capital of the world.

Just read the first few paragraphs, but looks like this one was based in China? Yeah, we need to start being nicer to them. Weā€™d better hope Biden wins and does an Obama style world apology tour.

My mostly ā€œliberalā€ friend group in PA is gathering 10+ people of all ages for a memorial day bonfire tonight. At least it will all be outside, but Iā€™m already getting a lot of grief for saying thatā€™s still a bad idea. After being so diligent for weeks and planning on meeting my parents tomorrow for an outdoor brunch thereā€™s zero chance Iā€™m risking that.
