Winter cricket and bridge thread - Held over by popular demand

Yeah I’m a drummer. Used to play guitar and bass too but it’s been a while. I’ve been in a band since high school, so 25ish years.

Allow me to rephrase this for you in the language that will be acceptable to God-King Bezos in 2035.

“Wow, Amazon Prime gives you a free bunk in a beautiful Amazon Prime mobile home as part of your Amazon PrimeLife subscription for only $999 a month? Plus you can free two-day ship yourself to any Amazon Prime hub city? That’s incredible!”

Haven’t bothered to look. He’s already booted out fly and goofyballer and anyone who hurts the feelings of his school shooting truther buddies.

Do you think corporations have found a perfect balance between their desire to horde wealth and a specific level of health to ecosystem, economy, consumer that maximizes wealth?

A humbling 107. 107 Melodic, 121 Mistuning, 95 Beat.

Mistuning part seemed really easy. No objection to the beat alignment as I have no rhythm. Should have done better on the melodic part by realizing to use some logic. I kept trying to keep the first melody in mind, when the right way is listen to 1-2, if same just smash 3. If 1-2 different, just focus on remembering 2 to compare to 3; if same, smash 1, if different smash 2. Too many times I tried to compare 1 to 3 when 1 was long gone from memory.

yeah, we ought to maybe retake the test in a week, and see what happens lol

No, I think they’re mostly just maxing out all the levers that accumulate wealth and power and lack awareness as to how close they are to the masses blowing up their fun little system.

the masses and the gases

I don’t really follow the whole Mentos + soda thing, but I’m pretty sure you can speed up the reaction waaaay up by crushing the Mentos up into a fine powder with a mortar and pestle. Has anyone tried this? Increasing the surface area to speed up reactions is some basic chemistry know-how.

Edit: this guy kinda knows what’s up, but it needs to be way more powdery and he’s not very good at using a mortar and pestle and his delivery system sucks. You gotta drop a fine powder all at once and I guarantee that shit will go nuts.

The corporations won’t back down on their own, so bringing them to heel involves an external force (government) making them behave, raising their awareness of how close they are to a revolt, or the masses actually blowing up the system. Each path has pluses and minuses.

woof, melody especially killed me

how I felt during the tempo part…

Finally somebody in this thread who’s more my speed

This was expected, no music ability or experience, although in undergrad I got pretty good at Guitar Hero:

I have no idea what melody is, so I was just guessing the whole time, too.

The entire third test was guessing.

Like you, I have literally no idea what melody is.

I’ve never played a musical instrument. Aside from chorus as a little kid and drunken karaoke as an adult, I’ve never sung publicly. I genuinely couldn’t explain to anybody exactly why I like certain types of music more than others.

This was a lot of fun. Despite my scores, I found the melody section hardest, especially toward the end. Trying to keep all the tunes in my head was challenging.

Yeah, I never even had an adult sing to me or whatever as a kid. The only reason I know the little I do is because all my friends were musicians.

I mean I’m sure I had a parent or grandparent sing me to sleep as a toddler or baby but who can honestly claim to remember that stuff?
