California needs to send a bunch of it’s Silicon Valley people to work remotely from Montana and Utah to get a couple senate seats. Mike Bloomberg could probably buy la bunch of land in Montana near a cool ski town, build a community there specifically for CA liberal tech ppl, and move them all out there with a fraction of the money he pulls in each year.
100 Chile Canals?
I think so, but I’m not that good at cryptisism. I mean “imagine there’s no countries”.
I’m not super familiar with the case, but from some very brief background reading, it seems that fraud against the insurance companies wasn’t charged by the government. (Not sure why, maybe they thought that insurers would be less sympathetic than patients and doctors to a jury?) The conclusion that you can defraud people who don’t incur a financial loss doesn’t seem crazy. Matt Levine is always talking about how, instead of having actual laws, we have “everything is securities fraud.” This seems like a similar issue. It’s clearly wrong to knowingly give people medical tests that don’t work, but it doesn’t map exactly onto wire fraud.
If we do this, can we excise the healthcare posts to the healthcare thread so they don’t get lost? (I’ve contributed to the problem by posting about healthcare stuff in primary threads.)
Started smoking cigarettes to cover up the marijuana smell my senior year in high school. Took 10 years to quit those disgusting things after I got addicted.
Bars around used to have smoking inside when I first was 21. I don’t know how I survived it.
depends on how close they are. if someones using dip on the other side of the room, sure, not that bad. if they’re right next to you, it’s the grossest thing in the world
Andrew Yang hasn’t sold my email yet. Pretty impressed tbh.
He’s going to run again.
Have seen more than a few people drink from someone’s spitter empty bottle/can at parties.
I’m on board. Vermont is offering $10k to telecommuters who relocate to Vermont, but I coule take one for the team, and relocate to, say, Jackson Hole. This article talks about how the first, easiest, and most durable step towards reforming this whole shitshow is to create more small states. Once the balance of power has shifted, the Republicans can’t retaliate, because they would never again have a Senate majority. The Case for New States - The Atlantic
People smoke like chimneys in the CR. The park outside a metro stop looks as though it has more stomped-on cigarette butts than blades of grass.
Someone want to start a thread about Bearded Seat Puncher or should I?

Cliffs: they both suck
Beardo is wrong and should be executed for crimes against humanity.
Help me out: is reclining never socially acceptable or its bad in this case because it is the next to last row? They’re both absolute sociopaths regardless
I feel like it’s obviously not a redeye and if I was in her spot I’d probably recline a little but not the whole way. But if I was in his spot I wouldn’t complain or do anything either.
