That’s how you know it’s working!!! If you think you are fine, you are gone
Do they not have pot in English colleges? I cannot imagine traveling to another country just for some weed. I knew some freshmen girls who would go to Windsor so they could party in bars, but no one was like driving out of town to score weed.
Let’s make some gifs
How the GOP saw impeachment
How Rudy saw impeachment
How the Dems saw impeachment
How the public saw impeachment
Maybe it was for prostitutes.
How did it come to this? One major factor is the obsession of many German centrists with the so-called horseshoe theory of politics, where the far left and the far right are equivalent.
Ms. Merkel’s Christian Democrats have been guided by this theory. In an official resolution, the party stated that it will never enter coalition with either the Left Party or the AfD. In Thuringia, it was this unmovable opposition to the left — demonized in its entirety by conservatives and liberals, citing the Left Party’s history as successor to the East German Communist Party — that laid the groundwork for the latest scandal. To prevent a relatively moderate and highly popular Left Party politician, Bodo Ramelow, from taking power in a minority government, the Christian Democrats and the Free Democrats instead colluded with the AfD.
One day after the disaster in Thuringia, Friedrich Merz, a Christian Democratic politician whom some believe could be the next chancellor, appeared on a late-night talk show. After condemning his party’s decision to collaborate with the AfD in Thuringia, Mr. Merz also felt the need to warn of the “left scene” in Berlin torching cars; he went on to equate the Left Party with the AfD. Should Mr. Merz really become Ms. Merkel’s successor, we can expect a red scare to become ever more part of the centrist program.
For the far right, this week has been an outstanding success. AfD’s leaders have long predicted — and hoped for — a convergence with centrist and conservative parties. On Wednesday, when shaking hands to congratulate the newly elected Thuringia governor, Mr. Höcke smiled. The scene reminded many Germans of a famous picture from 1933 in which Adolf Hitler greets Paul von Hindenburg, Germany’s president at the time.
Germany in 2020 is not Germany in 1933. But German politics have shifted in recent years in a disturbing way. Centrists and the far right share talking points on immigration. They share what they perceive as a common enemy in the left. And now, for the first time in decades, they even share a governor.
Horseshoe theory strikes

It’s a common theme down there with students, especially the Asians who prefer the law to be on their side, as the cannabis laws all over Asia are really bad.
+At that age Amsterdam is just the best place to have been, most folks from outside Europe just love to visit it though.
I like Holland it’s a cool place
All these posts about Peterson and no one mentioned the beef-only diet, or why his daughter is only wearing some sort of slip when making a public video.
Very weird family.
Shit got even worse this morning. Party leader Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer basically resigned. She doesnt want to become next chancellor for the CDU and will laydown party leadership once a new leader is found. She said that she cant be the leader anymore because their are wings in the party who want to work with the Left and the AFD.
Now it gets interesting because Merz is far more convervative and right leaning than the current leadership with Merkel. The fringe group “Werteunion” of course is happy. They should belong to the AFD but trying to steer the CDU more to the right.
Politicians of the other parties worry that the CDU moves now more to the right.
I am sick of this shit. These clowns from the Werteunion should go to hell. I dont understand how they get so much facetime in the media anyways. This all could spell disaster not just for refugees but also for the fight against climate change. All these backward thinking dudes …
I was just reading about this.
Having her anointed successor resign like this is another blow for Merkel and more importantly shows the strength of the extremist groups.
It looks like being the classic power vacuum when Merkel finally goes, and god knows who will step into power.
I thought Germany was set to have a left-leaning bundestag.
It’s difficult. The social democrats are basically non-existent anymore. The CDU already moved to the middle which few people see critical. In order to build a government consisting of CDU and Grüne the CDU would have to accept even more left leaning policies. That will be hard to swallow. Every rise in the popularity of the AFD would be a danger to this government. You can see at a smaller scale in our coal policy. A lot of the federal states impacted by that have CDU governments who fight pretty hard for reparations if the coal plants get shut off. In a government with the Grünen you would expect even more radical policies to tackle climate change. Then you have major differences in security policies(for example the rights of police) and in immigration of course.
I could have seen a coalition happening when Merkel was still on the bridge but she wont be for a next term and the people now fighting for power mostly dont want to move that far left so I dont know what these people expect in the future. The liberal democrats have trouble getting into parliament esp after the disaster in Thuringia so the options are with the Grünen or with AFD and right now it seems there are more and more people in the CDU willing to work with the right. I just dont trust a lot of the players when they deny any coalition with the AFD. They will call it the will of the people if the results are going in that direction.
Let me guess: you’re white? Lots of brown people refer to themselves as brown. And lots of Asian brown people refer to themselves as brown.
Generations have increasingly identified as religiously unaffiliated, but that may be leveling off with Generation Z, so there might be a limit to how secular Americans will become.
