I want to be clear that I’m for total political scorched earth until only one party still exists wrt the gop as a political party. I just happen to think that as long as they keep their base they won’t fully die… so I want to figure out creative ways to fracture elements of their base and put them in play.
Seems like you’re on the same page as NBZ, then
I feel like that is what I want to do. I’m a strong advocate of class warfare rhetoric and riling up the passions of the people you talk about to point them in the right direction. Let’s be honest. A lot of these people aren’t geniuses. Trying to craft a rational argument to appeal to them is a waste of time. The left needs propagandists who can appeal to emotions.
We are in the post-Enlightenment and need to stop acting like politics need a salon environment.

This thread demands a gimmick of its accelerating stupidity
Man reading twitter some Bernie supporters are his own worst enemy.
Add in the bots and shills who stan for him and make him look bad…err.
I also read he’s curb stomping fundraising in general this cycle. I’ve definitely upped my donations to him this last month and starting to feel some hope.
erm
It’s the final day of 2019. I would encourage everyone on here to do what I already did today and go donate to both Bernie and Warren’s campaigns. Donate more to the one you prefer, but donate at least $1 to the other candidate too. These two are the best chance we have to see the progressive change most of us on this forum want, so go help them out today!
Don’t need dollar amounts but would love to see people post here if they make a donation today.
Last push before EOY!!
Edit - threw Warren a token donation per your recommendation. Year to date I have donated about 10/90 Warren/Bernie (percentage wise). Obviously that could switch heavily if the nature of the race changes, because either of them winning would be epic.
Thanks for the nudge. Made a token one to Warren and a recurring one to Bernard.
Yeah I donated to Bernie again yesterday.
The Yang video is super disappointing, but not really surprising. Again, dude is a charlatan who purports to support a good policy in UBI.
So somehow the Yang health plan section has changed since the last time I read it. There’s no mention of a public option in it now. There absolutely was one as recently as two weeks ago. I think this is probably a messaging thing because he’s spoken at length about it publicly and clearly is for some kind of public option… but yeah that’s weird.
I’ll try to figure out what’s going on.
EDIT: Nevermind I found it. It’s been minimized but it isn’t gone. This is definitely about messaging. It’s under the section where he talks about decoupling healthcare from employment.
Yeah the ABC reporter is just straight up wrong, which is understandable given the fact that the public option has been clearly very intentionally minimized on Yang’s website, but there’s zero doubt in my mind he negotiates the exact same ‘as good as we can get it’ deal that the other Dems do if he wins in 2020.
Yang and his team have clearly decided to try to stay out of the healthcare fight in the primary. This makes sense given the impacts it has already had on other candidates. Do I love the fact that my favorite candidate is minimizing my biggest issue? Of course not. At the same time I recognize why he’s doing it and I think it’s probably the correct move.
Hit Bernie again. I am a little concerned about how hopeful I’m feeling.
From a strategy perspective Yang’s healthcare plan makes no sense to me. UBI is a very left idea, so it’s bizarre for Yang to put out a healthcare plan that is to the right of Biden. What voting audience is he supposed to be playing towards here? Maybe his campaign team is assuming that there are a large enough amount of people who will vote for him for the $1,000 no matter what that it is worth trying to double dip and pull in some more moderate healthcare plan voters.
Also what is up with him saying ‘Medicare For All’ is not the name of a bill in the ABC Clip - it literally is. These candidates are leveraging the popularity of the Medicare For All bills to mislead the public intentionally while pushing for plans that are far from what Medicare For All actually is.
I’m calling it now: Biden is going to come out strongly in favor of whatever gung-ho warmongering fuckery we’re currently getting up to with these Iranian-backed militias in Iraq.
I have monthly donations for Bernie but had sent him another 2 days ago and decided to send another today.
