One of the big problems is that a given poll is static while the world is dynamic. If you like the current polling, you will be more likely to think that that state of the race will persist, while, if you don’t like the polling, you can easily think of reasons why it will change (“this is all name ID,” “noone is really watching the debates yet,” “people who don’t live in the early states are waiting for Iowa and NH,” etc., etc.)
Biden will definitely pick a black woman VP.

Just basing it on the idea that Abrams is generally good, while Joe is generally the opposite. It is a huge fucking carrot though, especially if Joe promises one term

Is there anyone plausible that checks both boxes? The only two names I can spitball at the moment would be Veronica Escobar and Carmen Yulin Cruz, but I’m not sure either have a significant enough profile nationally. Maybe Cruz does with the Hurricane Maria stuff, and she is one of Bernie’s campaign co-chairs.

Yes, people like Abrams aren’t great when they start getting scrutinized (hillary did a lot better black vote in GA than she did for one) but VP generally gets a pass there.
