Less ig followers than Ariana Grande, but Warren picked up an endorsement today from health care activist Ady Barkan. If only he posted on unstuck maybe someone couldā€™ve warned him that sheā€™s sold out to the insurance industry.

There was a pretty good documentary a few years back about RMoney and his presidential run. It was very sympathetic to Mitt, so probably not very popular with the crowd here. Nonetheless, one thing that I kind of had an epiphany on while watching it is just how much of these campaigns are driven by expensive consultants. They literally do this as a full time job, and their technique is bombard the candidate with positive feedback about the campaign and the candidates prospects. Why? Well, because candidates with unrealistically high expectations of their chance of success keep these consultants employed with handsome compensation. I wouldnā€™t be surprised if half the team that helped Mitt is now helping Patrick (Bain capital referral program) and you can rest assured that Patrick lives in a tightly controlled information bubble designed to keep his money flowing to the consultants.

I remember on election night 2012 the Romney camp seemed to be convinced they were going to win, for some reason.

37% (93/255) of the potential democratic primary voters went to grad school/prof school, Iā€™m going to guess that wonā€™t be the makeup of the voting population in NH or probably any state as a whole (could be wrong but doesnā€™t feel like it would be that high anywhere). Most of the polls out there just suck and itā€™s easy to see why there are huge swings between one another

Yeah, his people were really overselling his chances. He missed pretty bad in all the swing states. Florida he came close 50-49, but he lost Pennsylvania and Ohio by a pretty wide margin. He needed all three and then some.

Wasnā€™t 2012 the election where Karl Rove made a complete fool of himself live on Fox by contradicting the decision desk when Ohio went to Obama?

One of the things about the Republican Party is they fully believe their own Fox News propaganda. Hannity had spent months screaming about how Obama had no chance and even guys like Rove believed it. Ikes would come in once a month to crow aboutsome absurd outlying Rasmussen poll showing Romney with a +1 lead.

Same thing happened in 2018, everyone else knew they were in serious trouble bu Republicans all thought there was a Red Wave incoming.

From Booker Deputy Campaign Mgr. Looks like heā€™ll be sticking around a while.
