Who will run in 2020?

What facts am I dodging?

Is Krugman also a right winger?

How should Warren answer that question about not being able to keep your current insurance?

Why aren’t the other democratic candidates taking the same position if it is a winning political position?

So you’d rather tie yourself to $40 trillion?

Do you see anyone on CNN asking Pete/Biden/Trump about $40 trillion?

I’ve always understood Medicare For All to mean a single-payer approach to universal health care, but not necessarily Bernie’s version.

If Trump is making 2020 about capitalism vs socialism, running on a scary platform of taking private insurance away and replacing it with government insurance plays right into his hands.

Here homie, this polls has “get rid of private insurance” at a whopping 11%.

Reread the argument until you figure out the facts you’re dodging.

She’s already answered that question effectively.

The other candidates like that sweet healthcare lobby money, or that sweet 1%er money, or they’re wusses.

Oh so we should let CNN dictate the platform to us?

Even if we run Biden and he campaigns on making the ACA slightly better, Trump will call it a socialist takeover and invoke Venezuela. Attempting to appease the corporate media and Donald Trump with our campaign positions is idiotic.

Maybe you’d prefer if we ran a Kasich-Romney ticket?

I think you answered every question besides “Is Krugman a right winger?”

Nah, I think I skipped 2-3 of your questions. This isn’t my homework assignment and you don’t get to waste my time with quizzes with a list of questions while you spam us with bad takes that aren’t based on facts, that we’ve all heard before.

Try “I like my insurance, so fuck off libtards.”

We know that’s your point anyway.

So the fact that I am in agreement with Paul Krugman on the issue doesn’t give you pause to call me a right winger? I’ve literally admitted that Bernie’s plan would be cheaper than what we have now and that my position is solely that it is bad politically.

And you think that the majority of pundits are on your side? That this is a smart political move? Do you have any polling to suggest that eliminating private insurance is popular with Americans?

i go to the doctor once every two years for antibiotics when i get sick. i could care less.

anyways, i do appreciate your time and effort and think you are well intentioned and hope that warren wins the white house and passes medicare for all.

Lost in all of this smokescreen bullshit from Skydiver is the fact that she apparently understood m4a to mean universal coverage and is currently supporting a plan that does not provide that.

It’s the same bullshit line we heard from Hillary in 2016 when she touted her plan as universal coverage, which meant nothing more than everyone will have the option to purchase health insurance. A public option that is means tested and that you need to buy into does not guarantee universal coverage. Keeping millions on private plans with large deductibles, copays, etc is not universal coverage, even if those people are misinformed enough that they prefer those plans to socialist healthcare.

Furthermore, Pete has literally zero plan to get to single payer, because he doesn’t WANT to. He has said as much. So all of the, again, BULLSHIT about “oh just because you don’t support m4a in four years means you’re not in support of it I guess, boo hoo look how Pete is bullied” is just insane. It’s gaslighting.

If you thought Medicare for ALL meant a public option for the poor that you could choose to buy into if you’re not poor (but hey if your employer currently provides shitty insurance they’re under no obligation to reimburse you or pay for your public option premium so, sorry I guess) then man you just have bad reading comprehension.

I think that is a completely unrealistic timeframe for the massive upheaval that is M4A.

I agree with this, I think, but don’t have any sources to verify one way or another.

In any case the conversation needs to be about realistic time frames for the administrative stuff involved. NOT timeframes to get people comfortable with giving up their private insurance. And my, again uninformed, take is that anything over 5 years is someone pissing on my leg.

Like 6 months or something right?

I know I had to call someone to sign me up in year one but year two the website worked fine for me.
