I think this is more an example of how people behave in person vs online than anything else. If you knocked on my door I’d be polite and friendly too because I recognize that we’re both more or less on the same team and want to go in the same general direction. But you’d be mistaken to interpret that as support for Pete.
Arkansas is a state I always forget exists and always feel bummed when reminded that it does.
I mean Arkansas isn’t even a bottom 5 state. That’s how fucked up this country is.
My friend from high school ran as the progressive candidate in that primary. totally grassroots. She didn’t win (she got 2nd out of 5 Ds running), but that district is definitely the most liberal in the state (North Little rock area). I learned a lot about AR last cycle, heh.
Oh I don’t think they support other candidates…they are out canvassing, after all. They just don’t have an abject hatred of any candidate but their own like I see online.
Well, every once in a while it will show up on the radar for some kind of horribleness from Tom Cotton, but other than that, yeah…one of those states that is utterly forgettable.
What about the other half?
Edit: I think you take the PeteHate way too seriously. Some people might genuinely hate him, but it seems like a ton–even among those who post things like “F off Pete!” have him as their 3rd or 4th choice. In a field of 157, that’s not bad.
Disappointment is a better word than hate to describe what I and others feel wrt Pete.
Tell me why Pete is better than Cory Booker.
- Warren
- Sanders
- Castro
4-6. Beto, Booker, Yang tier
7th. Pete
Thinking about this further I basically have 4 tiers of candidates:
Actually like and would want to see be president even if we weren’t facing an existential crisis: Warren, Sanders, Castro
Candidates I like but view as flawed for one reason or another: Beto, Booker, Yang
Candidates who I view as a negative if they win the nomination: Pete, Harris, Biden
Joke tier: Everyone else
The reason I focus on Pete on here besides disappointment is he is the only one of the tier I consider to be a negative that has any semblance of support on here. I actually prefer him to Biden or Harris if I had to pick one from that tier for whatever that is worth.
Because I’m awake now.
Looking forward to dank “Klob woulda won” memes in the apocalyptic fifth year of Trump’s Presidency.

I am a MN progressive and I can not think of anyone who is in the tank for Klob. Something way off here.
Possibly unrelated, but I know someone who isn’t hugely political who donated to Steve Bullock. I don’t know anyone who supports Klobuchar.
Cool CNN with ‘republican talking points’ and little substance. CNN is the most moderate of the conservative news channels.
Grunching 70 posts or so, sorry if I’ve been ponied but wanted to point out more reasons to love ol Pete

Like I said earlier in this thread nobody does shit like sell out to the healthcare lobby just once. You’re either that kind of person or you aren’t… and Pete’s a standard run of the mill politician with some talent whose roots are in the old way of doing politics that have dominated for the last 4 decades. I’m hopeful that there won’t be a place for them in less than a decade.
Pete will do absolutely anything he has to do to win. That’s just who he is. I can’t support people like that any more. It’s super toxic and totally contrary to the very idea of public service.
And I already know that skydiver is going to call me a huge hypocrite for never serving anything but myself and calling out other people’s lack of service… but I never pretended to be a public servant. I grew up poor and being a public servant was never even remotely an option for me. This much I guarantee though: If I ever do anything in politics it’ll be to help people from circumstances like mine or worse. Not to feather my own cap. I’ll be spectacularly successful personally by that point, so I won’t need anything from any position like that. Being an introvert I’ll just donate money and watch from the sidelines though. The idea of being famous in any way literally makes me want to throw up.
That’s why Bernie must win. The rich have way too much power. It often feels like Democrats and Republicans are both just pawns to the rich. No one should have that much money (and thus power) that they can alter the course of entire nations to suit their own agenda.
