Who will run in 2020?

My problem with Bernie this time around is that he’s still fighting for things at a very superficial level.
For example Jobs for All :

Sounds great but there’s nothing there about how he plans to guarantee jobs. Let’s compare with Warren’s site and her Rebuild the Middle Class page:

Actual plans, with links to even more detailed parts of the plans. Bernie has great ideas, I just don’t know if he can effectively enact them.

We’ll name your pony Bronze.

By god, every recent appearance Biden looks like a stumbling, befuddled old man. How in fuck is this the best guy the DNC could find. WAAF

He’s not. The DNC wasn’t looking for the best. They were looking for the DNCest, and he’s the DNCest.

They apparently didn’t really want a woman. They’re seemingly warming up to Warren and Pete, because…Biden.

I think the establishment is warming up to Harris and Booker. I think they’re only warming up to Warren to the extent that she’s not Bernie, and Pete to the extent that he’s a good VP candidate for a lot of others.

They’re already losing interest in Harris. Based on the last debate, all the establishment Dems were tweeting about how amazing Booker was. Not one mention of Castro.

I don’t think the establishment is paying as much attention to the swings as we are, the establishment talking heads being the exception for obvious reasons. The establishment will probably just unite around whoever is in the best shape out of their top 3-4 after South Carolina.

Guys, the DNC is just playing 8D chess here. They’re pushing Biden as the front-runner so he can be the punching bag while the other candidates get to push their agendas mostly unmolested.

Joe is the sacrificial heat shield protecting the DNC satellite that is reentering the political atmosphere and is definitely not headed for a crash landing.

I so very much want this to be true. But based on everything we know about the DNC this is very unlikely to be true.

Unfortunately, the truth is that we’re like one cycle away from the DNC courting Kasich or Romney to go after those oh-so-coveted moderate Republican votes. Then they’ll have their best lawyers looking into whether having George W. Bush switch parties would make him constitutionally eligible to serve a third term.

Those are pretty bad takes considering Biden is likely the Baby Boomers’ last stand.

Sorry I assumed the “crash landing” bit would serve as a “/s”

I wasn’t referring to your take.

Yeah that is what is super confusing to me (on top of hating Bernie but loving AOC, lol); how is someone constantly “changing their mind” Kamala Harris style somehow better than someone who has a set of political beliefs that they have stuck to their entire career?

Like, there are some legitimate criticisms of Bernie, and I get thinking that Warren may be a better option because she might have a better chance of getting things done. But criticizing a socialist because they have maintained their socialist political positions literally makes 0 sense.

Not me. This is probably partly because I’m a woman, but I just don’t like condescending old men who try to yell me into submission. It automatically puts me on the defensive and makes me grouchy and uncomfortable. I suspect I am not alone in this view. That’s why i won’t vote for Bernie this time. I voted for him in the 2016 primary because I knew he wasn’t getting the nomination but I wanted his ideas on the platform.

Now, his ideas are on the platform, we can actually pick a better messenger.

In the case of Austria that didn’t work out so well.
