Aides say there are clearly more Republicans considering turning on Trump now than did in the last impeachment process, when only one Republican senator broke ranks. But many say there’s not enough political upside to convince at least 17 Republican senators to take a step that could hurt their reelections with Trump already set to leave office in eight days.
“I think the timing really creates a problem … if we somehow voted on impeachment last Wednesday night, we could have gotten 80 votes,” a GOP Senate aide told Power Up.

I mean that’s the only subject they have any useful information to share on so I’ll allow it. Their feelings are also massively out of step with tangible reality which is itself a news story.
The gap between their feelings and objective reality is why 1/6 happened ffs. It’s fascinating and we need to figure out how it happened so we can fix it and hopefully prevent it from happening again.
I would argue that the feelings of right leaning people are the problem we have to solve before we can start moving the ball forward at something resembling the pace we need to make for the rest of this century… which is honestly pretty fucking quick.
I can’t think of a less newsworthy story than episode #7085 on how privileged white diner patrons feel about Trump. Do they still support Trump? I can’t wait to find out!
The stories are terrible for several reasons but what really gets to me is the implication we should care more about stupid old white peoples’ political opinions.
If they really wanted to do interesting reporting they would travel to Houston and figure out why the GOP is winning with Hispanics they straight up hate.
