He did call for ending the filibuster in this column, but just lol.

Not sure if the first line is serious, but apparently GG was part of the impetus to cancel her:
I must absolutely hate myself because I’m watching Meet the Press.
Guys, why can’t Biden unite the Senate? Why hasn’t be convinced 10 Republicans to support COVID relief?
These shows serve zero purpose.
I’d be very surprised if greenwald wanted her fired or called for that. Obviously no one should lose her job for making a dumb tweet like that. Making fun of a journalist for that sort of embarrassing lapse in objectivity is totally fair game though.
yeah:

Man, I haven’t even thought about MTP in over a decade. Used to watch those shows pretty regularly.
It’s too bad the line between being held accountable for bad journalism and being cancelled for what you write is so blurry. In the old days, if you pissed off a bunch of your readers, or lied you were fired for it. Simpler times…
The whole phenomenon is just right wing bullying. Like absolutely everything related to American politics.
The problem with our political system is Republicans. Period. They get away with it because nobody in news will say it directly, out loud, consistently (or really ever).
GG knew exactly what he was doing. This was a reporter using her personal twitter to share her personal opinion - that is not embarrassing and should be completely allowed without being called out for it.
GG goes on FoxNews shows where the Fox reporters opening say on air share their personal opinions about Trump being the greatest, etc. and GG never calls them out for it.
He may not have called for her to be fired, but he knew his tweet wouldn’t be good for her and doesn’t care that she was fired (in fact he’s probably happy as it gives him attention and now he can write another story dragging the liberal media for cancel culture and hypocrisy and pretending to care about a fired journalist - while ignoring that the right is far worse).
This is absurd. The New York Times fired her. Greenwald made fun of her for an embarrassing tweet. Many others called for her to be fired. But instead of blaming the people who actually advocated for her firing, or, you know, the newspaper that fired her, you blame Glenn Greenwald? Who apparently has an impressive amount of influence with the management of the Times?
yeah the idea that the NYT caved to pressure from greenwald is pretty lol, come on guys
