Still tough to play this one without tearing up. Jay Dee’s (producer) untimely passing was the greatest tragedy in my musical timeline.
He whipped this one up in a couple hours after having Erykah Badu pick out a record of her liking.

Still listening to Pharoahe Monch in 2020.
Theres a ridiculously sick mix up of the “Simon Says” horns (Godzilla Horns) with Lauren Hill lyrics that also uses the “Re:Definition” beat from Blackstar.
Hearing Lauren drop knowledge over a misogynistic anthem is pretty on point in 2020. Ill see if I can find it online. I have it on vinyl; not sure if its internet ready.
