Missed this last night as I was unexpectedly taken drunk, but obviously an excellent bit of judging.
I’ve been a fan of The singer of Roxanne Clifford for a while, she used to be in a criminally underrated indie guitar band Veronica Falls, who I saw a bunch of times in front of a handful of people, and I always thought they deserved to do better
When they split up she moved to LA and decided she wanted to make songs that sounded like Robyn. I struggled to chose between my submission and this one-glad I decided the way I did

Glad you liked this. I remember being surprised to see a Frusciante song in the previous grab bag but didnt remember who submitted it.
In any case, this one has been sitting in my “Submit to Walrus” playlist for over a year now, biding its time. Its one of those songs I can stick on repeat.

I respect the artistic choice of the song, but it sounds a bit nightmarish. I’m not too fond of the overlapping sounds in that fashion. I sort of got a headache from it. Sorry

Billy Joel - The Downeaster “Alexa”
This is probably a bad judge move but I find it particularly silly Billy Joel has a ballad about him being this hardworking sailor. Not a big fan of the song.
