Right but I’m wondering if I have to buy all these games again or if I’ll just automatically have them. Maybe a dumb q - I assume yes I would - but this is sony we’re talking about here
I got mine coming tomorrow, got a copy of miles morales ultimate edition. Haven’t owned a PS since the PS2, excited for Kingdom Hearts.
I give up. Had it in my cart 3 times on Walmart. Had both versions in my cart on the surprise Amazon drop… and nothing. Fuck everyone buying 5.
Curious to hear your thoughts on the controller and haptic feedback
Even though the launch lineups are fairly limited, thinking back to the launch of the last generation, this launch is soooooooo much smoother.
Do you remember mandatory kinect? Always on requirements? Always connected requirements? Fucking zero backwards compatability? Games that were essentially only rentals that could be revoked by the companies at any time?
Holy shit, the last two generation launches were ATROCIOUS compared to the current one. The 899 Ps3 debacle? It seems like this generation they finally have started to put some gamer value adds in. Game pass, backwards compatibility with easy transfers, the ability to buy the console monthly at 0% interest. These are all great things and exciting to see the industry moving in this direction.
lol it’s so ridiculous, it tells me it’s in my cart and I get to checkout and it’s gone, then “We’re restocking our shelves” FU
Yep. Happened again. I’m a degen - of course I didn’t give up. Just tell me to fuck off instead of letting me add it to my cart.
Oh thank god I was listening to Alex Jones on Tim Pool and this pulled me out of it. Thanks Goofy!
Awwww, this is nice.

Apparently they’re not playing these games today, every site just says “Out of Stock” that I’ve seen.
Target had a bunch in store but people camped out. Ps Direct should have some but ya know these assholes have scripts refreshing the page so good luck.
Why is Robert Redford in a Call of Duty game?

In case people couldn’t get one. Hope this guy doesn’t sell a single unit but I guess people are paying massive markups rather than waiting a couple of weeks…
How the fuck do you even get that many? I couldn’t get one and I spammed every pre order and almost every drop since.
I’m still fascinated by the fervor of this release and people being willing to pay massive markups to get a new console without any real killer apps alongside them. Did this happen with the previous generation of consoles? I saw it pointed out that this is a relatively rare event which may be driving the hype and also it seems like the pandemic may have put things into overdrive. I remember Wii’s being a hot commodity and the Switch has been sold out a few times but Nintendo is sort of an oddball that likes to create artificial scarcity.
Anyone else been able to get one? I don’t really want a PS5 right now but I find myself keeping my eyes open for one just due to everyone else seemingly doing the same thing.
The hardware itself is the killer app. SSD based console storage is a HUGE upgrade
I remember PS2 being a big thing
I camped out overnight in the customer service department of a Wal-Mart in Enid, OK (hour or so from OSU) to get a PS3 at launch to sell on eBay while I was in college. IIRC I sold it for around a grand.
Ok I’ll just chalk this one up to me being oblivious despite gaming since I was six years old since the last release I remember being hyped about was the Nintendo 64. I’ve basically always gotten consoles well after they released and never felt like I was missing anything but I also don’t usually play games when they come out either, massive backlogs FTW.
