Is Hades better on Steam or Switch or is there no difference? Wanted to be sure b/c I read CrossCode was a bit worse on Switch.

I will say Iā€™ve noticed some frame rate drops on switch in areas with a lot of enemies and projectiles.

Which isnt surprising. Compared to the majority of rigs out there, the switch hardware just isnt very powerful

Itā€™s the reason I donā€™t own a switch right now. I want some of the titles really badly - particularly smash bros - but, to get a switch these days you have to be prepared to spend $500+ due to the shortage that has been around since the start of covid. If Iā€™m gonna be spending that much I would rather get a high end video card or a grownup console. I dropped 5 bills on one for my sister 2 months ago and it hurt my soul.

I thought Walmart had them in stock at regular price still? I got one in June from Walmart for 299.

That was a lite though. Maybe the full ones are still out

Around that same time I checked walmart and target every single week for 4 weeks and came by on the days they said they were restocking (which were never correct) and couldnā€™t get one, so I bit the bullet and bought one on amazon for that price. I would have just waited it out but it was for my sisterā€™s birthday and she was having a rough pregnancy and was really bored, so I couldnā€™t be patient about it. It was rough. There were not even any lites in stock. I am in southern california.

I got a Switch last Black Friday for $260 :smiling_imp:

I love it but the lack of current and next gen titles can be a bummer. Itā€™s basically a way to play indie PC titles on a handheld in addition to Nintendo exclusives but honestly there havenā€™t been that many tempting exclusives for me once I realized I didnā€™t care for BoTW that much.

Yeah this is correct IMO. I think the switch sucks in every way except for the handheld capability, but that still makes it almost worth it (although not for $500).

I wish Nintendo would just make games. Iā€™d like to play Mario Maker and Kart and Zelda, but definitely not enough to buy a console.

Playing in handheld is amazing though, at least for me. I have a computer at a standing desk and a PS4 on my main TV with no comfortable way to play either, which leads to me playing less and having no patience for extended gaming sessions. Playing a Switch curled up on the couch or in my bed is just such a better experience that I will pay the Nintendo tax for anything that comes out and runs reasonably well on it. So far itā€™s kept me from getting either The Outer Worlds and Darksiders Genesis because the ports sound pretty bad, although at the right price I might still consider them.

Have you considered getting a steam link?

How will this help? If you see above, my TV is no better. We used to have some barstools that were great for either but we got rid of them when we had a toddler who could potentially pull them down onto herself.

I just assumed there must be a TV somewhere in your home where you can play comfortably.

Nah, we have one mounted in the living room thatā€™s just a little too far to play any games from the couch, so I have to either stand to play it or sit/lay on our love seat, which is at an awkward angle. We have another, older TV that was on a stand in my wifeā€™s makeshift office but when we tried to move it to a more convenient location for me to play on the stand collapsed.

Yah Switch is worth it for handheld alone if you travel a lot. Before covid I was traveling quite a bit thru Mexico and Guatemala and those 2-5 hour bus rides are a breeze with Switch.

Sadly I find myself in the more casual gamer category these days, so the Marios and Zeldas are more than enough to keep me occupied.

That said, I watched the PS5 trailer and it looks freakin amazing, but not sure if Iā€™ll take the plunge since I only got Switch 1.5 years ago.

Decided to get Wasteland 3 after an especially hopeless couple days, going to take out my aggression:

Microsoft bought bethesda. Not sure what to think of it other than some of my favorite titles are probably gonna become xbox exclusives which sucks.

Hades is good. Great recommendation. Very distracting 10/10.
