BoGT, yes. Lost and damned, not really

Iā€™ve been the opposite, especially since being in lockdown with a toddler. Iā€™ve had a PS4 since 2016 and used to play it a bunch but Iā€™ve found myself with less and less quality time to play it and my current setup is poor (basically have to stand while playing to fully enjoy it). Meanwhile I got a Switch for Black Friday last year and have played the shit out of it, already beating 4-5 games and dabbling with a few others. Iā€™m not planning on getting a PS5 but I do wonder if one day Iā€™ll be tempted; I got rid of my Wii back in the day and bought an Xbox 360 when I realized I didnā€™t have a way to play Fallout 3.

Should add i was considering getting FFVII but itā€™s clear that I wonā€™t be able to play it for a while so Iā€™m holding off for now.

As a very casual gamer Iā€™ve loved the best AAA ps4 titles (God of War, Spiderman, ff7) but have enjoyed the switch more.

Uber-casual gamer here. Several years ago, I bought the PS3 solely for GTA V (I guess that would have been 2013). I put a decent amount of hours into it, but probably only got about 30% of the way through. Over time, life and work and kids took up more and more time, so the PS3 just kind of sat in my basement room serving more as a media console than a gaming system.

In the last 6 months, though, I played through Red Dead Redemption and then GTA V, completing the story mode in both. Loved them both and am now looking to pick the next game to try. I just bought a bunch of the highest-rated PS3 games for like $12 each:

  • Last of Us
  • GTA IV
  • Batman Arkham City (this was mostly for my son, who is currently playing Arkham Asylum and loving it)
  • Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

The only one Iā€™ve opened so far is GTA IV. Iā€™ve only put an hour into it, but I have a feeling itā€™s going to pale in comparison to GTA V. So Iā€™m wondering if I should try to power through GTA IV or try one of the other games. Thoughts?

As I play through GTA IV, it occurs to me that one of the reasons this game isnā€™t as fun as previous games is that I just donā€™t like the radio stations that much.

I only played GTA 5 a bit on xbox for mostly the ame reasons you did. GTAIV i play all of it and it was great though, i would play it. The rest of those games are great too though from what i understand. Especially Last of Us, i havenā€™t played it but its very well regarded.

I loved the Arkham series. Just great story, and game play from a licensed product. My ps4 was a last of us bundle and I havenā€™t touched the game.

Got the uncharted series when it was free last month as well.

Anyone play Animal Crossing? I got it for my girlfriend to distract her a bit when she comes over to my place so I can get in more hours of online poker while the games are softer, and Iā€™m wondering if itā€™s appealing at all to more serious gamers or if itā€™s just too cutesy. I guess I can find out while watching her play, but was curious if anyone here is putting hours into it.

My gf is playing it as well. Loved the first one when I was a kid, think it would be a decent game to play to unwind after sessions tbh.

Based on what I have read, you are likely to be in for some immense pressure to play it with her.

My wife has put an insane number of hours into animal crossing. I enjoy them and think theyā€™re a good way to unwind and relax, but I canā€™t get into it for hundreds of hours.

Last of Us is awesome, one of my favorite games from the last 10 years. The long awaited and delayed 2nd game comes out next month.

Arkham City and Uncharted 2 are good too, Iā€™m a fan of the whole Uncharted series.

Unlike most of the people itt I almost exclusively play AAA titles, never got into the indie games. Iā€™m current putting a lot of time into Assassins Creed Odyssey

Personally I preferred Arkham City to Uncharted or TLOU, despite the critical acclaim thatā€™s been showered on the latter two games. The story isnā€™t as tight or gripping as the Naughty Dog games but I just found it a hell of a lot more fun to actually play.

Anyone play this: https://lonelymountains.com/? Sounds kinda weird and a lot of fun.

TLOU is one of the most creative zombie apocalypse stories Iā€™ve seen in a very long time, ending is incredible. Characters and voice acting is superb.

Arkham City is a must-play if you liked Asylum. Mark Hamill so great. as the Joker.

Xbox has offered the two Batman Telltale games the last two months with their gold subscriptions, and they are both a ton of fun. Especially the second one. I watched my wife play through it making the most superhero like choices and now Iā€™m going back through and playing as ā€œThe Badmanā€ who is a petulant man child who solves all conflicts with pouting and violence (except for where it might interfere with him getting booty)

Iā€™ve been playing a lot. Only have a 3 star island so far.

Just downloaded TLOU last week based on commentary Iā€™ve seen on here. Loving it so far, but i donā€™t get much time to play.

So I bought a PlayStation VR headset maybe 1.5 years ago, I played with it for a few months, checked out the VR porn scene (obviously), and itā€™s been sitting unused since then. Quarantine boredom drove me to pull it out again and I bought Beat Saber.

So far 10/10. Itā€™s extremely satisfying slicing up boxes, and I feel like the VR aspect of this is implemented much better than the titles I tried before. Itā€™s also a pretty decent cardio workout.

trip report on the VR porn scene?
