Details? All I know about Star Citizen is that it seems like a massive scam/boondoggle. For a while I had a lot of schadenfreude about it but the backers for it seem so earnest that now I hope it works out as well as possible, even though I doubt it will ever deliver on most of its promises.

Finished Children of Morta, my coworker let me borrow Fire Emblem: Three Houses so going to start on that. I don’t know much about the series but I belong to a small private Discord server that was formed around a different game (Eternal) and like everyone on there loves FE.

So lets see. They gave me 4 different areas I could walk around. I only tried 2 since they were both the exact same. Just a room you start in connected to a small little hangar. A few dudes hanging out that I couldn’t interact with. None of the doors seemed to open except for the room I started in. Half of the guys were standing on the couch for whatever reason. Jumped on the couch and got stuck and had to sign out.

Could also load up my hangar, which was a giant empty room. Apparently I could put ships in it but couldn’t figure out.

Tried the fps multiplayer game where I was told up to 24 players. The autoassign put me in a game with 2 people. Never saw either of them.

Tried the ship combat. Decided to do it against bots since I would at least see them. Seemed your standard space ship combat, except the bots just crushed me. Not sure I hit them once.

I haven’t played the three houses, but FE in general is great.

I thought there was at least more game to it so far but I guess not.

Fire Emblem is probably not my type of game anymore but I’m enjoying is so far just due to the solid art and voice acting.

Heard about the C&C remaster, decided to revisit Red Alert: Aftermath to get vibed up for the release, ahaha no. You can’t go back. Still looking forward to the release and really hope they do RA2/YR next.

Man, Earth Defense Force games are so absurd and fun, I swear they’re the best videogames out there that no one is talking about. They’re like the love child of a 1960’s kaiju movie and a Japanese arcade shoot-em-up. As much as I love AAA games and storytelling and production values they bring to the table, there’s something refreshing about blasting 2,000 spiders dropped from a UFO onto a completely destructible city, all rendered in gorgeous retro-PS2-era graphics.

I’m an OCD kind of guy that only plays a few games at any given time. Usually one sports game and one fps.

I’ve been on Rocket League now for about 2 months. Haven’t played anything else. Little shy of 100 hours at this point. I’ve never been this into a game as an adult ftmp, definitely in years at a minimum.

Goldeneye, Mario Party 4, and Halo 2 are my previous games I’ve been the most addicted to. TF2, 2K, and the Battlefield series is my secondary list. As a nearly 40 year old I won’t play games like I used to, but damn if this game doesn’t draw me in for a quick game up to a couple hours - like online poker previous.

We should form an Unstuck squad to do stuff like this :hugs:

I just wanted to say I’m 6 months clean and sober off Dota 2. It’s embarrassing how many hours I had invested into that game.

Probably should go ahead and add the last expansion for Civ 6. Went through and won a game with every leader on R&F on Immortal. Currently playing that, Fifa and 2K20 (My GM only).

Yeah I stopped playing Eternal about a month ago, think this is my third time hard quitting (I did qualify for a couple of World Championship qualifiers so I’ll play those for my minuscule shot at the $50k prize pool). No clue how many hours I’ve wasted on that game because so much of it has been on mobile devices. I also stopped playing Rocket League although that was more about practicality than frustration. Amazing how much happier I am focusing on stuff like Fire Emblem and Disco Elysium than these competitive games; it’s like the difference between candy and a hearty well balanced meal.

You ever speedrun GoldenEye?

*laughs in DOTA

No, outside of getting the unlockable stuff.

I had a friend where we’d drive around and try to gather dudes to either play basketball or goldeneye. Dude and I would play 1v1 for hours upon hours, we got ridiculously good compared to the other kids we’d bring in to slaughter.

lol at no screen-peeking: it is what it is bro

Flip side for me, I largely only play games for the competitive element.

I’ve had Red Dead 2 since it came out and have put in less than an hour. I have XB Game Pass with a ton of games downloaded and all I play is Rocket League. Campaign games are like novels where I like them in theory, but I never get around to it.

thumbs up on screen peeking, also goldeneye makes me think of this everytime, and TIL that its not the world record anymore apparently, guy must be sad.

Also @jwax13, i was clean from League of Legends for a similar time period and with the quarantine i ended up getting back into it and I’m playing way too much again but i love the competitive aspect. My buddies and I are always playing competitive games, i have a lot of hours in rocket league too but got bored of it.

We tried putting up cardboard to eliminate screen watching but it sucked. The levels aren’t that big. Get gud scrub.
