2025 kill me now
Maybe January 2025?
2025
So far
One of the most important days in video game history.
Update on Dragon Quest 11 Definitive Edition
This is a long game, with a lot more to it than I initially thought. Iāve put in 150 hours, which was enough for me to finish all of the story content, including post-game plus all of the side quests except one. And thereās still several more things that I want to do.
This is a very traditional RPG with streamlined mechanics that make it accessible, but also enough depth for you to be able to tinker if you want to. Iād say itās a great game to get your kids into RPGs if not for how weirdly sexualized some characters are at times. Setting aside the age appropriateness, there is one story beat thatās particularly icky.
The cel shaded art style is really vibrant, and the characters were designed by Akira Toriyama (creator of Dragon Ball Z), which gives the game a very recognizable look.
Overall this is one of the stronger third party titles on the Switch. Itās also a great choice for mobile gaming because a small screen doesnāt really detract from the game.
If you enjoyed RPGs from the NES or SNES era, youāll probably get a kick out of this.
Rest in Peace to James McCaffery, voice of Max Payne.

Thanks, I took Hellblade. Havent played it yet but heard good things and I know the sequel is launching next year
Thanks, I took Call of the Sea. Looks like fun.
GOW Ragnarok came out with a free DLC and itās pretty fun. I chose the hardest difficulty and itās kicking my ass / a huge grind, but still fun.
Jesus you must like a challenge. I did the default difficulty and felt like I probably could have done the 3rd difficulty level but the mastery difficulty level seems absurd lol. Anyway I got the credits to roll after about 6ish hrs of play. Had a great time. The combat is so damn diverse and satisfying if you learn all the moves.
I liked it alot
Epic games is giving away a free game every day until january 4th again this year.
Max Payne was such a great game.
I forgot about HellBlade. That game really struck a chord with me at the time I played it.
What a year for gaming. Hereās what I played in 2023:
Witcher 3
The Last of Us
It Takes Two
Portal
Tears of the Kingdom
Pikmin 4
GTA V
Baldurās Gate 3
Dragon Quest 11
Super Mario Bros. Wonder
Spider-Man 2
I rolled credits on all of these except Pikmin 4 (and I also played a bit of Portal 2, which I plan to come back to eventually).
On deck for next year are Monster Hunter: Rise and the PS4 version of the Mass Effect trilogy.
Last of Us Part 2 remaster comes out in a couple weeks, Iām biased (have like 300 hours in the game) but Iād put that at the top of my list if you enjoyed the first one.
