Video Games

The one last year for ps4? I liked it but I found it insufficiently challenging with brief spurts of absurd difficulty, especially the final 1/3rd of the game and the final boss. Not much encourages you to use his full toolkit because there’s a handful of devastating combos.

I nitpick but I really like brawler games like the arkham series and stuff like god of war and felt the combat could just be… better. I enjoyed the story enough.

I loved the Arkham games and with all the shit going on right now the Spidey universe has the right sort of vibe I need. Animations are phenomenal, too.

Bothering with the DLC? Never dipped into it myself.

I’d say my biggest complaint with the Spidey game was that the supervillains weren’t really spaced out.

Anyone played The Outer Worlds? Thinking of picking it up.

Have heard it’s good but waiting for the [now delayed] Switch release since I have been playing much more Switch than PS4.

So far I’m loving Children of Morta, it reminds me of Enter the Gungeon with a dash of Diablo 2. It’s a rouge-like where you control one of six members of a family that guide the story (you start with two and unlock the rest, I’ve unlocked three and waiting on the fourth still). Basically you dive into the dungeon and kill enemies and collect gold and items until you die, then use the gold to upgrade your roster, rinse and repeat. Each character has their own attacks and style and they do feel pretty different from each other, which is nice. There are a huge number of buffs and special items to find on each run and a number of choices for roster upgrades between runs, which is very much in my wheelhouse. The story is whatever but the combat is a ton of fun imo, has that D2 feeling where you get swarmed by enemies and have to navigate your way through (no D2 like loot system though). If this sounds good and you’re a sucker for feedback loops the way I am then I think you’ll probably like this game.

Looking for a game to kill some time thanks to covid, I’ll fire up rimworld you can sink a fair few hours into that. Almost straight away, event, toxic waste, all your colonists must stay indoors for a month. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I am very much enjoying hearthstone again but my wallet isn’t :/

Sounds a lot like Rogue Legacy, yes?

Wow, the simulation writers have really got you in their crosshairs

Yes and I loved Rogue Legacy, although the gameplay is a bit different and there are more buff/ability items to get on each run.

Nice, Ill check it out. It’s free on Game Pass. I wasn’t super impressed with the trailer but Ill take your good word for it.

It is comical how dramatic the industrial smog is. I have a town 3k or so and have a smog cloud like China on a bad day hovering over the industrial part of town.

Purchased the COVID humble bundle, and it has a bunch of keys I’m not really interested in or already played. If anyone wants any of these, post here and I’ll PM you the key:

Darksiders Warmasters Ed.

I know I’m not really active on this forum, but if I’d qualify for Hiveswap, it would be much appreciated.

How hard was cities skyline to pick up? Haven’t played a city game since sim city 2000

The interface itself is very easy to pick up. I was completely lost in terms of traffic management until I watched a few YouTube videos with some basic ways to construct highways, exit ramps, traffic circles, etc.
