Um so is animal crossing thing worth playing for like a normal male adult? Never played one. I did love me some starwdew valley though!
I dont know anything about the new Animal Crossing. But Animal Crossing is designed to scratch the same itch Stardew does.

One of the most fucking charms of Animal Crossing, by design, is sharing your town with someone.

I played the last one on 3ds for a month or two. Itâs kind of like stardew, but instead of grinding through watering your plants, harvesting, going to the mines, etc, itâs a lot of time talking to other people in town, catching butterflies, designing your house, etc.
Which makes that guyâs take even weirder to me. Animal Crossing doesnât feel like a game where you are trying to âoptimizeâ. You just kind of hang out. Like, I will admit to some momentary rage when Mrs Catface sets up sprinklers in bad spots on our shared stardew farm, but I canât see that being a thing in animal crossing.

Tomb Raider and Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris are free this weekend. Tomb Raider was good fun, havenât played the other.
Dead Cells on nintendo switch is a super fun game
Not sure if youâve made a decision yet on this, but I picked up Animal Crossing for Switch on Sunday and have been playing it with my wife basically every free moment since then. Maybe watch a few minutes of gameplay on YouTube or something to see if itâs your kind of thing, but if it is youâll certainly get your moneyâs worth from it, even at 60 bucks.
Also if anyone else has been playing Iâd be down for sharing some friend codes and visiting islands to swap fruit and compare fish collections.

I bought it yesterday and have about 2 hours in it. I honestly donât know what people see in this game so far. I have uh ~12 things to the owl, paid off my (first) debt/started house, made the vault pole, and yet just donât have much to do. Obviously Iâll give it a bunch more time but yeah the single developer stardew valley seems to have way more content than this monstrosity.
Though to be honest this is probably the perfect drunk game just havenât been drinking lately.
I got Disco Elysium and Assassinâs Creed Odyssey to play for quarantine but my wife moved the computer into the guest bedroom as her home office and I basically only have access to my PS4 when everyone is asleep so not working out that well. I donât think Animal Crossing is my thing unfortunately, I also tried Stardew Valley a little while back and got sick of it real quick; figuring out what to do and when to do it is no longer in my gaming wheelhouse. Been having quite a bit of fun with My Friend Pedro on Switch, although itâs the kind of thing you play in short bursts more than sit down and grind out for a few hours.
What sort of Switch games can be played online with family / etc? My parents and brother and I have Switch and looking for stuff we can play together while weâre social distancing

I donât use my Switch that way but Mario Party and Kart seem like obvious picks. Drawful 2 is good and was on sale for $0.10 although I donât know how well it works for people not in the same room.
One Step from Eden released today. Itâs the successor to the Mega Man Battle Network games, which I never played but apparently were some sort of cult hit. Sounds like a super fast paced deck-building game, elements of STS but more about speed and combos. I think I just made my coworkers day telling him about this game as he didnât know it was coming out but loved the mmbn games. Iâd probably buy it today but l just got Children of Morta on my Switch yesterday and would like to give that some time first.

I havenât played either but heard Splatoon 2 and Rocket League are great multiplayer games. Also Smash Bros and Mario Tennis.
