Played a lot more of OW2 - I like it except any 200 health character feels insanely squishy, I got 1 shot so many times out of nowhere, as a healer you feel pretty pointless when people can die so fast.
rein feels great, with no barriers I can get the most disgusting hammer down’s
I think A Link To The Past still stands up today in a way that original Legend of Zelda or Ocarina of Time don’t
That may be because 16-bit art style is still en vogue
And with the advent of the internet there are some great ways to keep it fresh. ALTTP randomizer is one of the most fun video game experiences I’ve had in the last few years. Or ALLTP+Super Metroid combo games where entering certain doors moves you from one game to the other and the items are randomized throughout both games so Link can pick up missle packs or Samus can get Link’s boomerang from Kraid.
I mean the point isn’t to make some definitive list of video games, the point is that drafts are fun! I do think some sort of restrictions would make it more interesting than just picking your favorite games or the “best” games ever or whatever.
I participated in one and the first pick was Dark Souls, although you could see that from a mile away if you were familiar with the poster (an otherwise trollish poster, Sputnik or something). To be fair I think that Dark Souls is a pretty fair pick given the influence it’s had on the industry since its release.
I’ve watched both of these on YT. Looks really fun.
- Moonstone . Hard Days Knight
may have missed this due to a series of timeouts/bans but although rocket league is probably very close to a perfect game (my metric there is that it’s almost undergone zero changes since its inception and its appeal has lasted, even grown) but I think this is mostly a fluke of being the first to do it and I’m pretty sure this will become a genre (cars hitting balls) where someone else does it better eventually.
god of war at every point is fascinating - story, superb. art, incredible. voice acting, flawless. puzzles and gameplay are great. you can make the game as hard or as easy as you want it. multiple ways to fight and play - all of which pretty viable. lots of exploration and side questing, to the point where it plays like a large open world game, even though it is tiny in comparison to others
I don’t know, I struggle to find a single thing wrong with it, it just plays like a big budget movie that was done really really well.
https://gamerant.com/elden-ring-rune-bear-input-reading/
this is going viralish, my first thought was “of course there’s input reading in fromsoft games…?”
Got the UFO without too much trouble, but the Berserker Queen ran, which was fortunate, she was too powerful. She was the second pod (avoided the first pod since I was stealthed) I came upon, it was just her and a Muton. Flamethrowered her and the Muton, the Muton panicked, everyone else was set to Overwatch, The flamethrowing was a mistake - it was with a technical that has the skill where it creates a small smoke grenade defensive effect. The Queen ran into that field, made it more difficult to shoot her. Should have just done a rocket. Skirmisher shot her with Chain Shot, she then ran to an area where she did her AoE attack that stunned one soldier and disoriented two others, luckily one of the two disoriented was a Ranger that had an upgraded short barelled shotgun, standing right next to the queen. Popped the queen for 24 with that, which put her under 50% and then she gated out. Glad she gated, I wasn’t winning that fight without at least a couple deaths. She started with 93 HP and 3 Armor.
I have the opposite reaction. Their games are supposed to be tough but fair. Input reading is definitely not fair. Should react to your character, not your inputs.
they “officially” dont read input, what they do instead is label certain actions you do (eg ranged) and that info gets relayed to the ai - which is essentially input reading.
i’ve seen enough shit in these games to know that the computer knows what I’m doing as I do it.
Whatever it is it leads to idiotic things like this and monsters dodging your staff cast instead of the giant boulders coming from the staff imo
At least the bear can be fixed easily, just have it respect stealth until it spots or gets hit
That’s why I don’t feel bad about using the most OP shit to stun lock endgame bosses
my first attempt at S ranking Hardcore on Resident Evil 3 and I come up 3 minutes slow of the 1:45 time needed god dammit, was doing minimal saves too so that was a waste of 2 hours
legit impressive, this is why i love this game, people coming up with deranged shit that shows far more skill than i could dream to have in that game and i am actually pretty decent
I’m having so much fun PVPing in Sea of Thieves. I’ve been practicing solo sloop and I’m terrible but I want to get good enough to grief others.
raises eyebrow
This has to be one of those things I think I want but really don’t, but yet I can’t help wondering…
I want the opposite of everything here. 1 alch orb for the whole campaign? No movement skills? Barely any support gems? HAHAHAHAH
Also you left out the part that the entire game is done as one shot. Definitely on my GOAT list. However there’s just something about how “natural” Rocket League feels and how it’s such a perfectly made competitive game that makes me think it’s the best game ever made. Then again that’s what why drafts are fun, I’m sure I could be convinced on 5-10 games pretty easily.
