I named my character pontifex maxi which was short of Pontifex maximus because of the character limit but I thought was priestly enough, until everyone started calling me maxi pad, so I had to get a character name change.

Should have just gone with PontiffFacts, always having pope trivia to put in chat.

I used to play a lot, but itā€™s been years and whenever I tried to play again I sucked so bad it wasnā€™t fun.

Will be watching and gambling on TI in a couple weeks.

Iā€™ll be watching most of it if the lines are as soft as previous years, but it is in Singapore and will be degen hours.

I only played the original warcraft III addon. I do not like the constant toxicity. I am very familiar with the concepts though.

Itā€™s the most toxic game on the planet. I have no idea why I still play it. The amount of times someone ruins a game 45 minutes in because of one comment is astronomical. Iā€™ve gotten to where I just mute all 9 players by default.

If you can find a group of people to queue with in a 5 stack, you absolutely should. If you play solo queue ranked, you better be lighting fast on the mute button.

I played League for a few years and got to low Plat, but thereā€™s just too many new Champs to learn to play casually.

I still play league for like 10 years now, I play with an old friend though, no solo queue

I am scared to know how much money I spent on skins when I was playing a lot years ago.

Excited for Worlds this year.

My 6 month trial from ATT ran out last month. Iā€™m glad I didnā€™t reup

Streaming games hopefully is the future. Having a high-end PC that is not in use most of the time in every gamerā€™s home is a waste.

Terra Invictus just went into EA. Itā€™s made by the XCOM long war mod team and is basically like a paradox grand strategy game combined with XCOM and Kerbal space program. Basic premise is aliens crash on earth, eventually detected in kuiper belt. 7 ideologies/factions compete for influence in the aftermath, all with unique victory conditions. You eventually influence and take control of countries while competing with other human factions, colonize the moon/space/etc and fight in space with hard sci fi realistic physics. Iā€™m like 5 hours in, have no idea what Iā€™m doing but canā€™t stop playing

I think for some games it could be, sure. I struggle to see how stadia is gonna provide a good user experience in a game like, say a FPS, that is extremely latency sensitive to begin with, and now you have a whole extra round trip time and a shitload more data coming through - it has to be slower simply due to speed of light issues. I donā€™t know a lot about how that works though, just a hunch.

Like, normally, the local client renders the game and just sends the server its inputs and receives info from the server. Now the client is running remotely too - I just donā€™t see how it works with current internet infrastructure. It seems like extra round trips are going to be involved.

:vince3:

Kerbal and the original XCOM are maybe in my top 3-5 favorite games of all time. And ofc Iā€™m way into paradoxā€™s CK3.

Iā€™ve used both Xbox game pass and Nvidia GEForce Now to play streamed games on my pc and it worked pretty well for me. I played games with 1 player campaigns/story game like Tomb Raider, Star Wars Fallen Order and Guardians of the Galaxy.
