Video Games

Read some reviews on it and every one is trashing it. I like the idea but I’m no early adopter. Internet is pretty good (150-190 mbs) but it’s not just bandwidth it’s latency too, if the experience goes to shit if the ping is high, this is a hard pass.

It will very much depend on what type of game you want to play. Latency is not an issue for turn-based strategy games but makes FPS unplayable.

fml they released a rimworld expansion today. i thought i was going to get so much work done this week lol oh well guess not

They’re not comparable but I subscribed to GEForce so I could play non-Mac games and it worked surprisingly well for Rocket League. It honestly felt the same as playing it directly from my computer. If you’re not familiar it’s a service that lets you play games you own on their servers.

I’ve got too much time into my modded 1.0 base to do more than watch some play throughs.

Very weird. I liked it, but it’s not GOAT.

for me Last of Us 2 if it ever comes out, huge fan of the 1st game.

I am looking forward to Microsoft Flight Simulator. I haven’t played any flight simulator in forever but this one looks absolutely stunning.

Yeah, it looks like Microsoft has put a ton of money into FS and while I never played the old PC versions Im really looking forward to it.

Also, based on previous timelines there is a chance that Xcom 3 drops in 2020 and man… I cannot wait for Xcom 3

Does purchasing that put you on a watchlist too?

A lot of people love it but I couldn’t get into it.

Been completely consumed by WoW classic. It’s such a grind but still so enioyable.

huh I played it when it came out and did all the shit and did MC a couple times and was like yeah I’m done, not waiting around for “new” content and yeah quit just before the PVP patch which seems like was a nightmare anyways. Doubt there’s a lot of olds like me who did it back in 2005 still playing classic.

I played in 2005

Spent the weekend playing with Dwarf Fortress again, the base game installed pretty easily on my Linux laptop but the utilities didn’t go so well and I deleted all of it. The game play is still the same; convoluted command structures, why do something in one step when you can force it to be done in 3, overpowered monsters destroy your base after a few hours of game place. That and a user interface inspried by the Matrix. Lots of fun but I think I’ll wait for the “easy” Steam version next year…

Rimworld is good.

Just started playing rimworld again thanks to the new DLC. Such a good game.

I like Rimworld and have lots of hours in and it’s a great game. I like how much bigger DF is but even with better tile sets didn’t care of the UI that much. Rumor is it is going to be on Steam “soon” and will have to have a more accessible UI. We’ll see. Another good game in the genre is OxygenNotIncluded better looking than Rimworld but also more complicated.
