Preterite tense verb conjugation is the toughest Duolingo miniboss I’ve faced so far.

Hollow Knight is my current favorite, Ori and the Blind Forest was also very good. I don’t think I ever actually played Super Metroid so experiencing it for the first time, great game but definitely a little dated and the focus on breaking random blocks is annoying.

Those are the only ones I’ve played recently but I’m also down for more. Hollow Knight’s sequel Silksong is in works, should be out later this year.

Picked up Eternal like a drug addict going back for another hit and damn if it doesn’t feel good so far…now we wait for the crash and burn. @jmakin @Canada if you want to add me in game my name is MJiggy+1389

Dead cells

anyone have knowledge of pc gaming computers? I built my last one and about to build a second one. I’m set for what i want to do on the new one but had a question about uggrading my current one.

My current one has 16GB ram, 960 GTX Nvidia card, and a AMD FX-6300 motherboard. It does fine with most games but struggles with PUBG at times which is my current game of choice. I was thinking i would have to upgrade my motherboard to do a better video card and CPU but it seems that my CPU is still pretty decent speed for now by looking online.

Would I need to upgrade motherboard for say this brand new GPU EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 KO? I wouldnt think so but I’m not sure when it comes to motherboards.

If you built your last one around the time the 960 was new you’re probably fine to just slap the new GPU in there. I was surprised to learn that I could transfer most of the old parts to my new build (I made my current build 6 months ago, previous to that was about 3 years, I got it wet or something and blew it up).

I shoulda looked harder but i found pc-specs.com and seems it will be good to go, sweet. Also looks like my power supply should be able to compensate for the slight bump in wattage.

I’ve got a 7 year old gaming laptop, which still works for most things, but is a little slow sometimes. I found out recently that I could spend a couple hundred bucks and easily replace my HD with an SSD and take the memory from 8gb to (I think) 20 gb. Would those upgrades noticeably increase performance? If I open up the task manager while booting up, disk usage shoots to 100% and stays there for about five minutes before calming down. Also the CPU runs at around 60-70 deg C, is it likely that this thing will crap out on it’s own any time soon?

That is actually quite low. CPU can withstand a lot of heat, some 100+ C. If your CPU heats up to 80+ C under a full load then that’s normal/expected

An SSD will noticeably increase start-up times and help with multi-tasking but won’t do much for many games. Extra RAM will always help although the bottleneck for games is primarily the GPU and CPU.
You should check if you are better off investing your upgrade $ in a new laptop though. It will cost more but also will be better value.

You might be able to just upgrade the CPU without buying a new motherboard since you’re running an AMD. That will save a bunch right there. Just make damn sure your GPU and CPU are not miles apart in terms of performance. I had a helluva time finally figuring that one out. I upgraded my gpu and tried just sticking it in my old sandy brook system and wound up with way worse performance.

The ssd will only improve load times, if anything at all. Memory has a big impact on game performance if you have too little and it seems like you have too little For the highest end games (i’m in the same boat currently)

I’d go with at least 16gb to be safe.

This is interesting. Off the top of my head I cannot think why this would be the case.

Any other rocket league players besides goofy?

I have severe rank anxiety. I tear up casuals (1755 MMR which i think is champ, top 5%) but I get super nervy in ranked and miss easy shots or whiff clears. When I group up with players like alobar or goofy I tend to do a lot better.

I’m Diamond 2 mostly solo queueing. But i just hate how toxic diamond is and usually have to stop. I think it’s the fear of fucking up in ranked that gets me, people get so angry about it. I dunno how I’m gonna ever hit champ with this mental block.

Also check out my sweet america car i designed last fourth of july:

Epic Games has electronic versions of the board games Carcassonne and Ticket to Ride free this week. I know they are well-regarded, but have never played them.

Opinions?

I’ve enjoyed both carcassonne and ttr in live settings but have only played each less than a half dozen times each.

I play Rocket League but I’m a gold scrub and don’t play that much anymore.

I wish it was the old queuing system where I’d get to play gold/plat games with you. They used to just split the difference. But now if we grouped, you’d get into diamond games.

Epic’s gonna ruin this game. I hate the new credits system. Luckily I got a ton of cool shit before it went into effect and I have all the awesome cars and skins I could ever use.

Carcasonne is great for small groups of varying gaming skill because a lot of it is just the luck of the draw. It’s a “euro” style board game meaning there’s no killing just meeple and board placing. I have fun playing it in mixed groups over beers but I’d have no desire to play it “competitively” if there’s online multiplayer or anything like that.

So I skipped xbox one and am basically waiting for the next gen xbox this year. I do kinda wanna play something, I saw that google stadia has borderlands 3 & balldur’s gate 3. About the same price as an xbox one off ebay, any thoughts on stadia?

How fast is your internet? See if you can buy one from someplace with a good return policy and see how it goes. I don’t think I’ve heard positive reviews or high hopes from anyplace that has talked about them.
