I’m replaying Souls 3 right now, having a lot of fun.
Might be better for the audiophile thread but does anyone have any recommendations for headsets to use with my PS5? I’d like them for general use to some extent but mostly for use when gaming on my PS5, PC, or Switch. I don’t need anything fancy but I would like something that takes advantage of the PS5 features if possible. Hoping to spend $200 or less. Wireless is a plus but apparently the PS5 (and PS4) controllers have headphone jacks so not completely necessary.
Edit: should add I have a PS4 headset and I like it just fine but it’s getting sort of ratty. I’ve read mixed things about the PS5 Pulse headset and would prefer to avoid it.
And yes play Bloodborne and Dark Souls @Pauwl.
I liked griftlands and got it in EA, some really cool mechanics. Did runs with the then two unlocked characters and was fun, haven’t played really since. Not sure how great the replayability is would be the only potential issue
3080 ti dropped yesterday. Wonder how long until I can get one lol.
I’m slowly getting better at Rocket League, but I cannot figure out how to dribble or flick for the life of me.
Do 1v1 you’ll get forced to dribble well.
It vastly improved my ball control. Dribbling/ball control is one of the things I do the best - I give credit to 1v1 for sure.
Flicking is meh. It’s all about timing. I never found it to be a crucial skill. I’d rather fire a short range 70mph missile into the top corner than do a fancy flick.
I started playing a lot of 1v1s yesterday. I keep going back between silver and gold. The biggest thing I’ve learned is not just not make mistakes.
Gold 1v1 is like plat in 3’s. People are very decent even at gold.
Any tips off the break? I feel like I get scored on too much or lose first possession.
I like to use a strategy where I arrive at the ball slightly after them and get the 2nd touch and have some boost left over.
You need to be able to read what they are doing though because if they do the super fast kickoff you have to use all your boost or they will just hit it in the goal before you get there.
i need one for PS5 as well and interested if anyone has any thoughts.
I posted in the audiophile thread and have gotten some interesting options from LMM.
Thanks, Bloodborne is going pretty good. Alot of similar stuff to Sekiro. Same enemies alot. Playing Sekiro after Bloodborne would have made me lol.
Civ VI + DLCs is in this month’s Humble Bundle.

Agree with all this. Would add—
Sekiro is the hardest, Bloodborne is the second hardest.
One of the features Dark and Demon Souls have over Bloodborne and particularly Sekiro is character style. In Sekiro, you’re Sekiro with one katana. In Bloodborne you have various weapons, but in the others you can swing an axe, sword, mace, spear, halberd etc…cast spells of various types and use different rings and equipment. There is more variety. Most people agree that DS2 is the worst (fewer epic boss fights and the world doesn’t hang together like the others), but I agree with goofy in that it is still excellent.
Interesting, Sekiro is the only one out of these I’ve been able to finish and never really felt like giving up, even at the hardest bosses. Played both the first DS game and Bloodborne; gave up at Orenstein and Smaugh after making zero progress on a bunch of tries and in Bloodborne I got sick of the part where the enemies respawn (apparently pretty close to the end). I’d be willing to try both games again though.m
Lawnmower Man and I have been looking into this over the past couple of days and checked out a lot of headsets. I wanted wireless (but with wired potential) and closed-back with the ability to connect to the Switch undocked so that basically narrowed me down to the the Sony Pulse, the Audeze Penrose, and Arctis 7P in my price range. I sort of ruled out the Pulse since they are the least convenient and I’ve heard complaints about the build quality. Picked up the 7Ps from Best Buy and loving them so far, although PS5 performance >>> Switch. Importantly, they are super comfortable and feel like you could wear them all day. I did order a used pair of the Penrose to compare but it will be a few days before they arrive and I’m dubious the price difference will be worth it for me since these feel so great already.
Off the break I try not to commit too hard or use 100% of my boost - usually i’m trying to just get a good hit to the other side and circling to side full boost and zooming back to my net if i lost. Idk really, there’s a ton of stuff that can happen off the break.
dlk9s jr convinced me to play Fortnite with him yesterday. I was given a copy of Save the World right when it was released and played it a little bit. I can probably count on two hands how many times I’ve played Battle Royale and my strategy was basically stay away from everyone. I don’t know how to build (I mean, I know what it’s all about, I just don’t know how to do it quickly) and I have no clue what any items do without taking time to read the descriptions.
We played Duos together twice. We won both times. I had never won before. Must’ve been matched up with noobs who know less than me. My son carried me, but I did get the final kill in the second game.
Hit level 65 in tbc classic this weekend. Taking me way longer than it should given how many hours I played - helping crappy guildies run dungeons is slow. I’m mostly just questing while I wait for groups to start. If I could just find a good mana tombs group it’s over 150k xp/hour but unfortunately my guild is underleveled and undergeared and healing on builds like enh shaman and stuff. I’m in the ground floor of this guild and I like the people I’ve played with a lot (was in discord all weekend with them) so I’m hoping we can get enough 70’s to raid soon, I’m very interested in that content.
