Turbo Walrus: TV theme edition - Reveal!

didn’t The Wire have a different theme every season? Or am I thinking of another show

Same song, just different styles/artists each year

Pleasantly surprised to take a second. Don’t know why I wasn’t expecting much, just a feeling.

Lets keep this train rolling. I am having a tough time deciding which decade I like better, so Im going to buck walrus tradition and reveal BOTH categories at the same time

For those who gaf, here’s the show the 3rd place song came from

Been binging it for a few days now

Yeah, its a great song and it works so well as a Baltimore backdrop.

Ohhhhh, I did like how this was used as a credits sequence.

Wouldn’t have changed much though, I don’t think there is much that would have snapped the 1-2 punch of wire/curb

I predict last place for me for the 90s.

No idea about 80s.

Nah, I got that one brother. Picked mine as a joke. It’s an objectively terrible song.

Probably should’ve stuck with my anime pick on that one.

In 8th place for the 90’s, Scoring 1 (The 80s have a dupe)

And here in theme version

I actually didn’t hate any of the songs in either the 80s or 90s. Every one of them (yes, even that one, person who is looking incredulous right now) would be something I would probably listen to at some time or another. But something has to be last. This is fine, but not great, and there isn’t a lot to say otherwise. It runs into some buzzsaws though, I tell ya what.

told you. The best comedy of the 90s. and it gets beaten by bob’s joke song, apparently

Lol, I got nothing against AbFab, but I am not the biggest fan of the theme.

Don’t know man. Maybe it wasn’t a joke.

If it is what is coming next, I certainly took it as such.

IN 7th place in the 80’s

And in 7th place in the 90’s - Scoring 2

So these are both comedic entries in totally different ways. Who doesn’t love Gary Shandling? Much like the 80s, nothing should be read into the placement here other than “Holy shit, there are a lot of good themes in the 80s and 90s.” This is just the lowest end of a very good bunch.

Grats to whoever submitted Emmanuelle. I obviously didn’t see it growing up, but I’m guessing it was a Cinemax show? Excellent choice regardless, and the theme is actually quite good. My wife and I had a real good laugh when it came up.

Thank you very much. It was the theme of late nights in my early teens.

And yes, it was on regular rotation on Max After Dark along with the half dozen sequels.

In 6th place in the 80’s, the TWO people who submitted

And in 6th place in the 90’s - all scoring 3

Im sure both of these will be surprising to the three people who submitted them.

I don’t want this to be a continuous reposting of “I really liked these, but I liked the ones above better” so we will just consider that a constant going forward. Kn ight Rider is a killer 80s theme that I know has been repurposed multiple times in the future, and while I like Bad Repuitation and it fits really well as a theme for Freaks and Geeks, I just couldn’t put it ahead of what is coming up.

By the way, young Martin Starr never fails to blow my mind.

And Knight Rider was me. So pretty shitty score but that’s what I get for playing for the first time.

Next time, I’ll know that obscurity is not rewarded and stick with the tried and true in lieu of the more obscure.

FWIW, that won’t hold across all walruses.

Most people prefer obscurity, but I am ok with more well known stuff.

omg

This is why I don’t walrus.

SE’s death cry of NEVER FORGET is in response to this. It’s all good tho. Sportsball is a bit of a square peg around here.

My '10s entry was nearly Carrie Underwood’s version.
