so elon shutting down the CR while saying it’s the “voice of the people” but it’s really just him threatening to primary everyone that doesn’t agree with him…

going to be some long years.

It kinda sounds like Elmo is cashing checks that draw on Trump’s account. Wonder how long Trump will be good with that.

I kinda thought that cooler heads would prevail but maybe they’re really going to burn it all down? What a time to be alive.

Pulled the trigger on an EV today, pretty sure that lease tax credit is going bye-bye with a quickness.

Of course part of me is very concerned about the real world suffering that is about to be unleashed, but the sick part of me is curious to see just how badly they will fuck things up. There really is no limit other than their own imaginations at this point.

One of the best case scenarios is probably an economic disaster with these clowns running the show that quickly and permanently turns people against this crap. Of course we likely don’t live in that timeline.

We are massively overdue for some kind of a recession anyways. If you take the Covid blip out of it, its basically been 15 years of straight up in all asset classes. That’s not normal and can’t last forever. Or maybe it can. I think we are about to find out.

Some mixed reactions on the ag forum I follow. Not too many upset about the farm bill being in jeopardy even though they had spent the last few days drooling over the numbers being thrown around for the checks they would be getting. They talk a big game about cutting the government spending, mostly because they (probably rightly) realize their pets won’t get cut. But several aren’t in love with the vibes being given off by Elon. Some just don’t like the spotlight being pulled off of daddy trump, but some others are having a moment of realization and calling him an oligarch.

not an expert but it seemed like we traded the last recession for inflation. paying people more than their job payed and writing blind six figure PPP checks to millionaires.

I thought people were gonna run out of $ at some point but it’s just not happening.

Uhh, just in case someone (not me) doesn’t know what CR stands for, what is it?

ETA: continuing resolution?

Is your plan to buy or just lease?

That’ll be a good test of how much pull Elon has.

Why? It seems like Elon and Trump are on the same page wanting to ax it.

elon is going to have some workaround so it’s tesla only

Tesla already used up their quota of the tax credit. That’s why Elon wants to ax it. He got his, now he wants to keep anyone else from getting theirs and ‘catching up’.

But I’m sure he’s going to find all kinds of ways to funnel more and new government money to his companies.

Edit: I guess it’s only certain models of Tesla that maxed out their tax credit.

I leased.

I meant long term.

One work around that buyers use is to lease and then call up the financing company the next day and then buy out the lease. So you get the $7500 lease rebate, but you still get to buy the car.

No immediate plans to buy it out.

Hey I bought an EV today too! But while I was looking for a deal to take advantage of the tax credit, I found an even better deal on a 2023 with just 5000 miles on it, the rare unicorn where someone paid the depreciation driving the car off the lot but then almost no more. Nothing apparently wrong with it, and I will also get the full balance of the manufacture warranty.
