Trump appointing Tom Homan as the head of the gestapo, er border tzar (if that’s any better). He was the proponent of child separation explicitly as a deterrent in the first Trump administration. He is pledging to use the 1798 alien and sedition act.
Homan said if “Trump comes back in January, I’ll be on his heels coming back, and I will run the biggest deportation force this country has ever seen. They ain’t seen shit yet. Wait until 2025.”
Sorry if this an insensitive question, but how exactly can mass deportation even work? The logistics sounds impossible.
If you try to confirm the people you’re deporting are here illegally, sure. If you just round up every brown person who can’t prove their citizenship and ship them to Mexico it’s pretty easy. Here’s one of their plans:

Bad news:
Cattle cars would be a not serious answer, but it happens by cops doing it. No, it’s probably not going to be 20 million people, but in the last Trump administration did a bit over 200000 interior deportations (Biden has done maybe 100000). Could it be 1 million in this term? 5 million? Sure it could. You’d hardly notice. Hardly anyone notices the 200k.

In 2015, President Obama gave him a Presidential Rank Award as a Distinguished Executive. A Washington Post article at the time stated, “Thomas Homan deports people. And he’s really good at it.”[
All of these groups have already been suffering, and it’s about to get worse for all of them.

My lukewarm take is Trump will put them in camps and force them to do the same jobs they’re currently doing, just for even less pay.
There will be spectacular failures that get all the attention, but I think this administration will be bad in novel and surprising ways that won’t be comprehended for years to come.
