TJ plays a ton of poker in Vegas for WSOP! ...And occasionally eats

Over at Resorts World, on the list for 2/5. This time I tried Goggle Man’s noodles: Malaysian street food. Apparently his thing is he wears goggles to protect his eyes from the smoke of making tasty food on the streets of Penang for over 40 years. It had rice noodles, chicken, sausage, shrimp, soy sauce, bean sprouts, and egg, for $15. I liked it better that the fried rice bowl I got here last time.

Now let’s see if we can spin up a stack with the weekend crew in town! The list is already longer than it was at the same time mid-week.

Did you know the Barenaked Ladies are giving a free concert at the Fremont Street Experience tonight at 9pm?

Still over priced.

So frustrating to keep taking two steps forward and three steps back. -1700 at Resorts World 2/5, lost both big hands with an overpair that was no good.

I enjoyed their set when they toured with Hootie before the pandemic.

Yes I grew up in the 90s, why do you ask?

Bummer. Have you played some good games at resorts world?! Every time I’ve been there it seems to be a pretty young crowd of pretty competent players and very few weak spots.

He won like 3500 earlier this week

Oh, alrighty then!

There’s so much variance between what table you end up on, or even which casino you choose in Vegas

Yeah winning big on my first trip might have been the worst thing that could have happened…. Been chasing the dragon ever since

You’ve just laid bare the entire business model of Las Vegas.

So I was feeling down, after just getting crushed at Resorts World, again. Figured I should eat something, but since it was Saturday night surge pricing for ubers, I just wandered into the sports bar and got a dog and some chili. No pictures, but it wasn’t very memorable. At least I got to watch the Braves win and Alabama lose.

So I decided to head back to the Airbnb around 8 pm. I wanted to get my mind right, and pick up more cash to play a nightcap. Got home, took a dump, grabbed some bills, and headed to Venetian. I figured it’s a busy resort, there’s that conference in town, so the games should be good.

Remember when I said I always liked Venetian because I’ve run really, really hot there in the past?

This is what happens when everyone buys in for the 1200 cap and I flop 4 sets in an hour and a half, getting paid on 3 of them. The big one was 88 > 22 > As5s on Qs 8s 2d, for a pot around 2700ish. I colored up 9 stacks of red and 1 of green for 14 blacks after that hand.

Finished up +3141, which I believe is the new lifetime record for one session of 2/5. I’ve had several 2k hits at 2/5 lifetime, but can’t recall another 3k+ hit.

Suffice to say, I think I’ll be back at Venetian tomorrow.

Nice! If you’re ever in the mood for shot taking and see a 5/10 open up at the Venetian, I’d recommend it. It’ll be mostly 2/4 or 3/5 players and not the normal 5/10 pro crushers making your life miserable.

Playing there is supporting one of the worst right wing evil families in America. :disappointed: some percentage of every drop ultimately ends up in Trumps war chest for his election in 2024!

There is no such thing as a lucky room. Why play this one?

“Lucky” room often means “room where I’ve done really well because there are more bad players”. Unfortunately Venetian definitely meets that criteria. These were three different Venetian sessions from one of my trips, just sitting there, eating comped steak dinners, and scooping huge pots from tourists. I hate Adelson, but I had to put that and my small contribution to his billions aside for my own personal gain.

Sands doesn’t own the Venetian any more, so play away!

Edit: it looks like the sale hasn’t been completed yet, but should be by end of year.

What would you do if the owner of the casino you play 5/5 PLO at is a horrible deplorable?

Bro, you were salted up a few weeks ago over checks notes opposition to an oil pipeline and you’re in here nitting it up over someone with a fraction of your bankroll playing poker in the wrong casino?

I sometimes eat at Chick-fil-A.

Lol one is the ethically right thing and one is the ethically wrong thing. Not a hard decision.

Sweet I hadn’t heard that. I agree then play away!
