Last place gets 1 pt, then each place after that gets +1 pt. Until 1st gets 13 pts or however many are in this walrus.

First of all. Thank you all for participating. I really appreciate the time and effort everyone put in although some of you startedā¦ not great. Just a note on the methodologyā¦ Iām probably inconsistent as I donāt have set guidelines on what I was looking for in my categories. Just remember itās all fun and games and the points donāt matter.

In last place we have a shared artist. Unfortunately for you both I am not a huge fan of The Beastie Boys. Some songs are fine, but you both chose ones thatā¦ arenāt? Itās cool we all make bad choices sometimes. I actually really like the sample you chose but the hip hop song wasnāt it at all for me. If you would have picked Kendricks āIā with the same sample you probably would have hit the podium. 1 point for you.

This one was a little too on the nose for me. Itās like you almost googled āfamous rap songs and itās coverā. I donāt mind the song or the cover and you are getting penalized for a lack of imagination. Again, itās probably not you, its me. Actually this one might be on you.

This one was unique in that the sample is one of those songs that Iāll never get tired of. I still listen to it frequently. The issue was that the main song just didnāt it for me. The sample was a little underwhelming and the rapping was ānasallyā like I really want to give that guy a yearly prescription of Flonase.

Thanks for the @ and the low score. Oh well. I guess I should know better than to pick well-known songs, but when it comes to loving both the song and the sampled song, this was really the one for me. I especially liked how it embraced and celebrated the song it was sampling rather than just taking a beat that you might not even recognize as being sampled without the internet or encyclopedic knowledge.
