New Cunk special is pretty good

My favorite bits are her asking an art historian ā€œwhat the fuck is this?ā€ about a famous painting

And asking Brian Cox, ā€œcan I call you Brian or do you prefer Cox?

I didnā€™t realize this was made by Charlie Brooker.

Also that Streamberry has a Cunk cameo and now has an official website WTF

I just finished it and it was quite jarring to not have a next episode button pop up after that finale. Oh well. It was still an entertaining season and they did a pretty good job of making a second season. I expected it to suck but it did not.

Agreed. My wife and I had no idea that episode 7 was the last one. We went to queue up episode 8 the other day and found out. It was a really good season - they did a great job coming up with something new while still sticking with what worked before. Itā€™s just that we didnā€™t expect it to end where it did, which was disappointing.

If we wouldā€™ve known, then it wouldā€™ve been fine. Cliffhanger!

Also finished up Squid Game. I figured we werenā€™t getting a full season after the 4th episode or so when the games had barely progressed and I knew there were only 7 episdes. They waste a lot of time on some pretty trivial stuff but it was a solid watch.

I had never heard of her when I watched the last one cold. I laughed so hard that my family all came to the TV room to see wtf I was watching.

Finished Squid Game

It was ok. I think I wouldā€™ve liked it better if it was just a fresh new cast going through the games again. In the end, I just enjoy watching the games and the characters developing relationships with each other during the down time. Didnā€™t really care about the first 2 episode plot, and I kinda find 456 to be a little annoying and his decision to attempt a coup (which is never working in a million years) instead of just bunkering in with the 1 vote advantage and defending (like they did successfully in S1) seems odd for his character.

Like heā€™s suddenly ok with letting over half of the ā€œgo homeā€ voters to die off while he and a few others just lay there silent? Before he was trying to defend every single life. He also knows almost everyone who tries the coup will be killed off. So heā€™s killing off like 90% of his group for a 1% shot at a successful coup, instead of defending until the vote and then they can all go home anyway.

Also, in S1, everyone saw the horror of the games and voted to go home, only to change their minds and then return to the games anyway. These people are down and out and just want to play man.

Squid Game S2:

I felt silly since itā€™s just a TV show and not real, but I kept saying out loud, ā€œHe should offer to pay everybody who votes to end the games!ā€

They all knew after a day or so that he was a previous winner and had a lot of money (or presumably still had a lot of money). When there were 100 people left and a vote was coming, he should have offered, specifically directing it to the ā€œOā€ group, but open to all, that he would give, say, 100 million won (or whatever amount) to every person who votes ā€œXā€ AND the ā€œXā€ vote wins so they go home.

Tell them his name, his hotel, etc., so they can find him afterward. Even say heā€™ll throw a big dinner for everyone.

But obviously this is all fiction, so itā€™s pretty dumb that Iā€™m so upset that a character didnā€™t think of this. Iā€™m still dreading the mom and son having to square off.

Didnā€™t read, but anyone know what the BB premium is for that house? It seems like kind of a piece of shit for 4 million. This is fucking Albuquerque that we are talking about after all.

Edit: Read it now. Actual value of home is about 350K.

has to be a huge premium

OK I clicked and the info was right at the top.

Actual value estimated to be ~350K. An extra 3.65 million to own Waltā€™s house.

Big difference between asking for 4 million and getting 4 million. I would expect the Zillow estimate on this one to be pretty close to the actual sale price. If anything the BB connection should make this less valuable - who wants yokels staring at your house all day?

Unless they get some arrangement with the Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce or something.

Any house youā€™d want to own for the premium?

Iā€™d take that big ass house in Sopranos for $4 milly :grinning:

Laura Palmerā€™s house

I can see people paying the premium if the house is already nice. So for example, if the Home Alone house is worth $3m on its own, I can see paying an extra $2m for it and living in itā€¦ but nobody who can afford to pay $4m for this is going to want to live in it.
