Lol you guys are wack. For four million dollars you could just get someone to shoot a TV show in your own house and you wouldn’t even have to move.
A decade or so ago some guy came to my apartment in Brooklyn and wanted to know if they could use it for a new show called the Americans. I pretended that I was the owner of the building and that we were not interested.
There has to be some buyer out there who would pay some premium (not 3 million plus) and not actually live there, but charge people admission to go in and check it out. I’m having a hard time imagining that turning that into a significantly profitable enterprise, but maybe someone who is better at that than I am could figure something out.
I’ve walked by the Home Alone house (it’s actually in the Chicago area). I doubt anyone would pay that kind of premium (on a percentage basis) for it. I’m guessing it’s probably worth about 2 million without considering the connection to the film.
Finally filled a gap in my TV data bank and watched S1 of True Detective. Wow, that was fantastic. A bit slow-paced, which made the episodes feel like they were two hours long, but Matthew McConaughey was unreal.
I don’t understand how Matt Berry isn’t a megastar. He’s so damn funny. Can take any mundane line and make it hilarious with clever intonations or changes in pronunciation.
In honor of The Wire winning the all-time GOAT TV show tourney, I am rewatching the show. I’ve seen seasons one and two multiple times but honestly can’t remember seasons three onward, so I started there and it’s like watching a brand new show. Now I am wondering if I ever watched the whole show. Anyway, I feel quite fortunate to be able to watch it either as new or like new.
