If anyone has any streaming deals, please post here. Iā€™ve canceled most of what I have with the intention of resuming on those sweet Black Friday deals.

Season two of Ozark felt so satisfying that season three feels like a reboot. Idk I am taking a break.

Instead I am now on episode 8 of Beef and hot damn what a feisty show.

Didnā€™t know Steven Yeun could sing like that. Nice voice.

Beef was amazing.

(But forgot to end an episode earlier.)

Hah I see what you mean. The penultimate episode was weird too.

Beefwhile!

Going to upgrade to iPhone 16 (only thing I have left that doesnā€™t use usb-c is my phone). Prolly will switch to the unlimited ultimate plan that will get me Apple+, Apple Music etc included. Hopefully wonā€™t be too hard to associate with my current Apple account.

Beef really kept me on the edge of my seat, but still processing how they wrapped it up. It was unexpected. Iā€™ll give them that.

Is Beef S2 a continuation of S1 or is it an entirely different Beef (kind of like True Detective style)?

Even though season one ended on something of a cliffhanger, it sounds like season two will be a completely new story. Maybe the season one characters will have cameos?

In Season 2, a young couple witnesses an alarming fight between their boss and his wife, triggering chess moves of favors and coercion in the elitist world of a country club and its Korean billionaire owner. Further Season 2 details will be revealed at a later time.

Soā€¦

  1. Arcane.

I think? Im gonna need some time to process to really be sure, but for something to even approach BCS as quickly as this did for me is a feat in and of itself.

The last three episodes are DENSE and there is a lot to unpack, but the MVP of the season is episode 6 and specifically its ending. It feels as though more could have been said by the characters about the ending of Ep 6, but thinking back on it now, the characters thoughts about what happened do come about organically and are present in both the text and subtext without being directly referenced.

Outside of the story, its absolutely gorgeous. Just a marvel of animation and the team at Fortiche should never have to worry about work in the future. Any animation company or company looking to tell a story through animation should be tearing down their doors to get to work with them.

Story time. I went to junior high with Steve Yeun. We were both in the orchestra. He was quite talented. I was not. Iā€™m not surprised he made it at all.

For those who may not end up watching, the soundtrack has a ton of bangers.

Watched ā€œBuy now: The Shopping conspiracyā€ on netflix. Enough to get your blood boiling although most of the stuff I knew to some extent already.

Stuff Iā€™ve watched on Hulu recently:

Solar Opposites S5 - Not as good as their early stuff, but probably the best season since S2. The Wall/Yard subplot continues to be very good. The Silvercops subplot continues to suck.

Only Murders in the Building S4 - Without a doubt their weakest season thus far. Iā€™ll be back for S5, but Iā€™m not going to hesitate to give up if it doesnā€™t improve. Iā€™m not especially hopeful - the end of season cliffhanger was lame.

What We Do in the Shadows S6 - Still four more episodes to go in their final season, but theyā€™re going out on top. Will be sad to see it go, but will be happy to see it wrap up before it wears out its welcome.

I tried watching this. The premise is my jam. But I couldnā€™t get past the AI speaker portions.

A John Oliver piece trying to stretch into a full length feature. The recycling scams werenā€™t new to me, but the designated obsolescence / no-repair design part was just gross
