The Television Streaming Thread: Part III

Not sure what Aya Cash is up to, but seeing as how Soldier Boy is still alive, its possible that Stormfront is as well, and having her come back and have to reckon with the fact that the smartest person in the world (as well as the one who helped make her late husband’s dream of the Supes ruling everything) is a black woman would be a verrrrrrrrrrry interesting way to take the story.

That would be awesome. Especially with Homelander saying all the quiet parts out loud. He’s no longer worried about the PR fallout.

A year old but I missed this one.

Cobra Kai is back, and campier than ever.

Interesting, I have avoided the boys because I loathe everything marvel/dc. Maybe I need to try it. I think I did watch the very first episode way back.

I think you’ll enjoy the political commentary. The show also does a good job ripping apart MCU and DC properties and anyone who worships them. Episode 1 was directed by Dan Trachtenberg and is one of the best of the series.

There’s one scene in particular in episode four that I think will show you the depths the show will go to.

I don’t know how this Nathan For You finale turned into an epic hunt for a long lost love, spanning multiple episodes, with surprises, twists and turns, and an escort.

Its a truly incredible piece of television and should be in consideration for top 10 episodes of the century so far

I’ve tried to convince my wife to get into the show. I try and pitch it as “What if Michael Scott got his own reality series” but she still merely tolerates me watching it, but about 45 minutes in she was totally engrossed in it.

One thing you might dislike about The Boys is that it’s basically “Kink Shaming : the show”, it seems like every other ep it is revealed that one of the evil villains has a sex fetish, which is always played for “disgusting” effect (unlike our good heroes who have vanilla or no sex life). It’s very not progressive in that regard.

Also while I enjoy it (ive watched almost all of it and will most likely see it to the end), it has been more or less the same formula from the beginning, so if you watch a couple eps and the premise doesn’t appeal to you there’s no reason to stick with it hoping it gets better.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how often do you have sexual fantasies about sea creature?

Right, I also would not want Antman crawling up my urethra, but the fact that the fetishes are made up and/or exaggerated does not change the fact that the show is constantly equating sexual deviance with evil.

(the Deep is my favorite character btw  )

Ugg. That does sound like it would drive me crazy.

You monster

The villain in this Columbo episode is a pretty rough looking 51 (at least for an actor). I guess that’s how things were in the 70s.

He was also Perry White in the Chris Reeves Superman movies. He looked even older by Superman IV.
