The Television Streaming Thread: Now With Felonies

My favorite part of the The Lord of the Rings trilogy to re-read is the appendices.

Just finished season 3 of Ozark and thought the season was trash and not even in the trashy but entertaining way. The shit with the brother was all bad and took up way too much time

Iā€™m catching up on Dirty Money. Iā€™m very familiar with bank compliance (itā€™s my career lol) so the HSBC and Wells (less so because it was all so public) episodes completely blew me away.

I almost hate Jared Kushner more than Florida Man after watching his episode. What a human piece of trash. Heā€™s probably gonna outlive me though which really pisses me off.

Help me understand the Maple Syrup episode. The Federation has to be a governmental organization? And if you produce maple syrup then youā€™re automatically a part of the Federation? The answers have to be yes otherwise the Federation would have no real power. Either way, I found myself not giving a rats ass at all about that particular episode and stopped halfway through.

Really cool series, though.

The insane part of the bank episodes to me is that every large bank has entire departments whose whole job is to keep the shit that happened from happening. The Wells Fargo thing is kind of understandable, I guess, itā€™s basically a predictable incentive problem. But the HSBC thing is truly unbelievable, knowingly and blatantly laundering money for terrorists and drug lords is some Bond villain level shit.

The episode on Guardianship disgusted me so much that I havenā€™t watched the remainder of the second season

Omg Iā€™m so jealous getting to watch this the first time.

Bad take

What we do in the shadows returns on TV tonight, probably on Hulu as well. Probably my favorite comedy from last year.

Great fucking show, what else can I say.

Watching Four More Shots Please!, billed as an Indian Sex in The City, on Amazon Prime. Itā€™s about 4 young professional friends and their romantic lives. Itā€™s not good, but for some reason, like Bollywood movies that arenā€™t good, I canā€™t really stop watching. Helps that Sayani Gupta is gorgeous.

Know Iā€™m behind the curve here but just finished all 3 seasons of Narcos and it deserved all the love it received. Have no idea how close to the real story it was, but the way actual footage was used throughout was an excellent narrative choice that made an already unbelievable and compelling story even more captivating.

Yup, Narcos Mexico is just as good if not better.

I Think You Should Leave is a sketch show on Netflix from Tim Robinson (SNL for 1-2 seasons) that really hit the mark for me. Like most sketch shows, theyā€™re not all winners, but when they hit they really hit. Itā€™s only 6 episodes at 17 min each so itā€™s an insanely quick viewing.

Tip: Baby of the Year sketch in the first episode is basically sketch perfection imo, so if you donā€™t think that particular one is funny then maybe the show isnā€™t for you and you can stop watching.

I have to preface this by saying that despite a few Saved by the Bell parody sequels, this reboot is not a joke. Original cast returns.
