Three eps into season 3 of the newly restarted Daredevil. This show is playing the hits but not really giving us anything new so far, it’s mostly just okay but the real reason to watch is Vincent D’Onofrio, who is back and brings this incredible presence to every scene. If he’s making an omelette or taking a shower or just staring at a blank wall, every single shot is great, I don’t know why he hasn’t been in more things.
Hes about the best version of Kingpin I could think of.
Yes, Michael Clarke Duncan was the absolute only good spot of the Daredevil movie, but his portrayal pales in comparison
I loved the daredevil show on Netflix and agreed that kingpin kills it.
My #1 beef with the Daredevil show is that it refuses to give him a superhero costume. Like it took ten episodes in season one before he got to put on the Daredevil superhero costume and now in season 3 he’s back to running around with a cloth mask like the Dread Pirate Roberts for three espidoes. What is this show’s deal, superheroes need cool ass costumes.
They’ve confirmed they’re using this Daredevil for the MCU, decent rumors he’s actually in the Spiderman movie in two weeks.
Wouldn’t shock me if Kingpin got in a Spidey movie because of how good he was in that show.
I think it doesn’t happen because they’ll want to use Goblin or Venom or Kraven, but who knows.
I can’t get over Charlie Cox’s hairline. Daredevil isn’t supposed to look like a mid level accountant going through a divorce.
wat
Early GOT was among the best TV shows ever made, certainly.
Sure. But we can’t pretend that those last two seasons didn’t happen.
Don’t tell me how to live my life. THAT’S SOCIALISM!!!
Warm take: I’ve found Succession kind of boring lately. I mean, yes, some of the conversations in the last episode were interesting and uncomfortable, but I feel like most of the show is a caravan of black cars or helicopters and the characters fretting about business deals. Then nothing really happens.
It’s still a really good show, don’t get me wrong. I’ve just been sitting there kind of waiting lately. Certainly feels like an explosion is coming with Kendall, Roman/Gerri/Shiv, and/or Tom/Shiv.
Season 5 of orphan black is dragging through 3 episodes. The whole village or wtf it’s called with the 170 year old man. I’ve enjoyed the ride, hopefully it picks up speed. I know it was a planned season 5 end so expecting a decent wrap up. Plus I just realized that Rachel has a Rachel-ish hair cut.
I’m with you, I watch and enjoy it but would never put it in the top tier of TV
finished watching s2 of the morning show. the fact that the plot arcs are all confusing, and don’t get resolved is kind of the point, because that’s what recent events always feel like. not sure if this is the show they were thinking of making when they started. that’s also kind of fun.
janniston potentially playing the first covid patient on tv. although they took almost two seasons to get her character to wake up. actually thought carell did a good job too. if they make it to s3, rewatching lockdown and vaccinations is potentially going to be therapeutic. they are kinda staying clear of politics (probably a good decision), but not sure if they can avoid the election.
why would italy make it better? i am kinda a sucker for the setup of a newsroom, but of course there are good ones murphy brown and bad the newsroom.
the italy subplot had no compelling reason behind it. and they kinda wasted a great location and story because there was actual coronavirus stuff happening there at the time. instead it was about a guy realizing he preyed on women. he could easily do that from vermont or florida.
that on you broreo. reese witherspoon alone is worth watching. major legally blonde vibes

This is the correct take, imo. And I think you’re understating it a bit.
I’ve got Succession as a top 3 show of all time.
Hate to be this guy but to me succession is about the ensemble. It has more wide shots than just about any other show and there’s always something interesting happening on screen even if it’s not in the foreground. Like if you’re finding scenes boring maybe try a little a harder :)
Easily.
