The Television Streaming Thread: Now With Felonies

Just finished season one of For All Mankind. I didn’t necessarily love the juggling of stories between different characters, but I enjoyed it well enough. Excited for season 2 when playoff basketball isn’t on.

Trying out Mythic Quest. It’s OK after 2 episodes. A little slow.

Gets significantly better, either down the stretch of season 1 or during the interim episodes between seasons 1 and 2.

Season 2 I’ve liked but it also feels different-- it’s really not as plot-driven as season 1.

Am I the only one that thinks HBO’s phone app is absolutely awful? Legit one of the worst apps I interact with on a regular basis.

Hbo max or HBO?

I listened to this in the car today. “Welcome to the Internet” has gotten all the attention but “Funny Feeling” is the song of the album/show/whatever.

wow that Loki episode sucked hard

Watched two episodes of Panic. Will continue.

Watched first episode of Kevin can F himself. Should be quicker hitting. Two hours was about 4x too much. Will not continue.

HBO max, didn’t realize there were multiple

Been kinda curious about Kevin Can F**** Himself since I read about it, but of course a show like that is gonna be so much in the execution-- an interesting concept is still just a concept.

Watched the Bo Burnham special.

It was very good, but didn’t quite match the hype that I’ve seen here and elsewhere.

Conan’s final show is tonight.

My wife likes it. I watched a bit of the beginning and it seems pretty cool. I was exhausted, though, so I fell asleep (no fault of the show).

The sitcom part is just too long. We fully understand the premise. It serves no other purpose. Stick with the dark stuff. Should be 30 minutes an episode, tops.

I don’t mind the concept, but I got it in the first half hour and the extra 3/4 didn’t help.

Conan was basically the only watchable late night talk show.

Seemed to be the only guy who rolled with Bill Burr going off on conspiracy theories. The others would always be afraid of letting him go on for fear of offending someone.

Yeah, really enjoyed the first two, but that was a dud.

I’d say it’s a bit past the concept stage now :sunglasses:

Wife said “that was a doctor who episode”. Not sure I love the lady loki casting. Can’t believe that was first LGBT character coming out in the MCU. Like 14 years or something?

Maybe I missed something, but is she LGBTQ+? I wasn’t even sure she was a she. Loki, after all, is a master of disguise, and that wouldn’t exclude being disguised as a different gender. Since they haven’t really seemed to explain how she “is” Loki and also looks different, I hadn’t ruled out that her variant was a male Loki who got stuck in this disguise and just started rolling with it. And hitting on another girl in a bar seemed more about deception as a means to an end than an actual sexual orientation.

Edit: I guess it’s the conversation about Loki having both princesses and princes as suitors? It sounded to me like he acknowledged having both as suitors but without showing any particular interest in any of them. I don’t really want to shit on anyone finding representation in pop culture. I think it’s more that I don’t think that Marvel deserves much credit if that’s all they’re going to put out there.
