The way Iāve dealt with the frankly absurd level of plot armor June has is to tell myself that Iām watching the story of a spectacularly lucky resistance leader. One of those people who operates inside a totalitarian state for a very surprising amount of time before usually being executed.
And to be fair June really is very talented at connecting with people and leading them. If you tell yourself the person youāre watching is as gifted a manipulator/guerilla as this guy the plot armor problem feels less problematic. That being said it really is on the verge of my having to convert it to just being superpowers because itās really straining creduility at this point.
I can imagine them deciding not to make a martyr out of her. I canāt imagine them putting her in contact with any new normies much less her agents ever again. They put a light guard duty on a woman whose last casual encounter with their regime was the death of 6 commanders because poison exists? Sheād be guarded more densely than Hannibal Lecter lol.
Sheād be dead. Weāve seen handmaids executed previously, what did they do and sheās still alive?
As for her continued and miraculous survival, I keep expecting them to make a bigger point of the idea that God is protecting her. Because it really is at a supernatural level at this point, but they make it seem much more like itās just luck/Juneās amazing skills that are saving her.
Also, why donāt those ear tags they put on the handmaids have GPS locators?
Completely agree. Particularly after she got the kids out thereās absolutely no chance any totalitarian regime in history doesnāt execute you very nearly on the spot. In her case, since her survival up to that point was hugely dependent on powerful people not wanting her to discuss their dirty laundry during interrogation, this is even more certain. They would have just shot her at the end of episode 2, and it doesnāt look like theyāre afraid of jumping the shark dangerously based on where we are at the end of episode 3.
These people keep treating her like sheās not a threat when sheās a walking disaster for them and has been for the entire duration of the show. Killing people like her efficiently is something totalitarian regimes are optimizing for ffs.
Iām watching Cobra Kai and Iām on S3E7. Iām in complete awe of it. Iāve never seen anything like it. Are the producers in on the joke? Thatās the point, right?
Is that the one where Clark captures some drug dealers and tortures them to death in a hypobaric chamber?
My Dad had all the Tom Clancy novels and back then Iād read anything in the house. I get them mixed up though. If itās that one itās fuckin psychotic, I canāt believe they made a movie out of it.
I was going to watch that because I have a weakness for Tom Clancy stuff even though he is an absolutely atrocious writer. Then I read some reviews and nopeād out.
I couldnāt remember the book, so I looked it up on Wiki and ended up at the page for the movie. This bit of vandalism at the end of the plot summary canāt be good.
Can someone remind me why we hate Elon again? He seems like a douchebag. Was he a Trumpkin? Maybe that was it. Iām not that good at this, though. I donāt hate Gates or Bezos either.
