I thought this summed it up pretty well. Plus the fact that he’s a 50-year-old billionaire who spends most of his free time acting like he’s trying to set the world record for Reddit upvotes for an Epic Bacon Dad.
Ahhhh, so close. He called a man who rescued a bunch of trapped children a pedo because the man dared to question his sincerity of trying to help by building a submarine.
This is accurate, trying to find a billionaire thats “one of the good ones” is like trying to find a cop thats one of the good ones. The system that creates them is so broken and perverse.
The 2nd season finale of Mr. Merceds got an audible gasp out of me. Maybe I’m stupid and should have seen it coming but I honestly didnt.
Speaking of which, first two seasons are very good. A very well done SK adaptation (S1 at least, never read book 2 in the series) and I offer a recommend to anyone with Peacock looking for something interesting to watch.
Finished Season 1 of Westworld. I really liked it other than the people being able to surprise other people despite the entire room being made up of glass walls and doors
Westworld Season 1 - Masterful storytelling. The playing with time matches with the endless repetition and loss of sense of time that the hosts might feel. The abandonment of morality in the park and its consequences. The idea of what makes someone human, stories as being the self. Everything really good
So far in Season 2 - Let’s undo all that. Let’s continue the story of the man in black even though his story arc is essentially complete. Let’s redo the asynchronized storytelling but just as a storytelling gimmick not tied into the repetition that the hosts experience as service workers.
S1 of Westworld was really good, I don’t think I finished S2 and if I did I hate watched the last half of it. This just reminded me that there is a third season, I assume it was awful.
