I like superhero stuff but WV was better with more mystery, the last two episodes were the weakest.

I have heard this from others, so clearly this is a significant subset of the audience. Regardless if you wash out of the big superhero movies but still skip ahead and give WandaVision a try, thereā€™s more than enough recap sprinkled into the plot of that series that you wonā€™t be left hanging and bewildered. Do you agree?

On the other hand, I dropped out of Jessica Jones and Agent Carter because of pacing and feeling that the writing was wanting. Itā€™s interesting that WandaVision managed to appeal to broadly different tastes.

The CW superhero shows are a lot better at this sort of thing while the Marvel movies deliver big action sequences.

Are you watching dubbed or subtitles?

Yeah, me too.

In my highly unscientific study of Money Heist watchers, I find that subtitlers tend to like it better than dubbers.

or one other character who has a sweet cameo

Birbigliaā€™s virtual comedy show ended a little while ago. Went about 90 minutes. It was a lot of fun. Great value, about $28 after fees.

Itā€™s one big Zoom meeting, about 800 people. After you buy your ticket, you get a Zoom link with some instructions (reduce your mic volume to about 20%, have your camera on if you want - they like to see everyone and hear laughing, but donā€™t want excess noise). The show starts with an opening act and then goes to Birbigs, as I like to call him.

Itā€™s literally an entire show of pizza stories and jokes. He has some new jokes, too, for each show. He mentioned audience members a few times and one even got to tell a pizza story. For this show, Jimmy Kimmel and chef Chris Bianco were special guests for about 10 minutes or so at the end.

Definitely recommend it. For the price, getting a ā€œliveā€ comedy show in your living room from a guy as good as Birbigs is awesome. Plus, while he likely never really noticed us specifically, it did feel like he was talking to us. They did actually show what he was seeing at one point - a couple big monitors with a gajillion viewersā€™ Zoom windows.

Clearly. Iā€™m going to ride those couple seconds til I die.

Iā€™d call it more the American Dad, but I think the metaphor starts to break down at a certain point anyway. (Although it takes some of the signature stuff out of R&M that doesnā€™t work for me, and is funny in its own right, so I guess it works on that level.) Anyway, I like Solar Opposites. So far so good on the second season, but Iā€™m not very far in.

I think they have a very mixed bag on this. But the TV show special effects just arenā€™t great.

I considered that but American Dad while not exactly as good as FG is pretty damn close or at least it was when I was watching it/grew out of MacFarlane stuff. Though am thinking about watching his ST knockoff.

American Dad is still very funny, which is pretty impressive considering itā€™s on season, I think, 17?

But like I said, Iā€™ve also been really liking Solar Opposites. Like AD eliminated FGā€™s reliance on cutaway gags that reference or even just recreate pop-culture moments, SO eliminates all the handwringing over toxicity and the ā€œdonā€™t you get that Rick is an asshole?ā€ over-the-top stuff of the last couple of seasons.

Lol I just had to verify my age to watch ā€œLast week tonight fromā€ last week. wtf?

On HBO max or youtube?

Anyone see Hurricane of Fire on Hulu? Itā€™s about the wildfires in Australia last year on New Yearā€™s Eve (2019 NYE)

Holy shit it was insane. Mid day and pitch black from the smoke. You could see explosions occurring in front of fire fighters trying to escape.

If you want the shortened and easy to read backstory here you go

Wanda is a watch and Vision is a robot and are in a relationship. Vision has a stone in his head, the Soul stone, that makes him a robot with a soul. The villain, Thanos, wants to collect that stone plus 5 others that control the fundamental reality of the universe; space, time, etc to end half of all life in the universe. He collects the 5 stones and the Avengers do an Alamo on Earth

Then watch these scenes

Cliffs: She kills the man she loves, only to see time be reversed and see him killed again. She disappears after that and thatā€™s where Wandavision picks up

All the main characters are in other Marvel properties so itā€™s cool to see them progress plotwise, but thatā€™s all ancillary to the main plot
